It put a strain on our relationship too, because he used to answer this those times I noticed he wasn’t listening while I was talking and asked what he was thinking about. Turns out he has too many thoughts in his head, and “nothing” was indeed the easiest answer. I guess it doesn’t really matter what the truth is to a random person, but it does matter to your friends and family.

Indeed, it helped me a lot when I didn’t know when to start. Searching on the web can yield very old results, and you simply don’t know what is outdated and what’s not.

I hand wash any clothes that require it, and I had to get out blood and such at times. I recommend gall soap for that first, then wash. You should not use generic soap though, as it foams too much. If you have any washing detergent available use just a little and hand wash, then rinse thoroughly.

It depends on how you feel. For instance, I have a few friends that are born in Norway, but their parents are Vietnamese. Those friends would always described themselves as Vietnamese while in Norway; they are a part of that community, their ancestry is important to them etc. While traveling abroad however, they would say they are Norwegian. The context is different, and citizenship is more relevant. Some of them have lived several places, but their roots and citizenship were the most important pieces of nationalidentity to them.

Myself I’m an immigrant. I don’t tell people I don’t really know what county I came from; it’s private and not relevant. If people ask me (not abroad), they usually mean my accent is off, which is rude.

On a more serious note, it makes sense; pigeons don’t build nests, they just make sure the egg doesn’t roll away. It’s good enough. Junior bird worked very hard, but it wasn’t necessary. A few sticks did the trick and required no time. Now you can focus on other tasks, that’s efficiency.

I used to be subscribed to r/oldmandog when I still used Reddit, and many posts were about pets that died due to old age. It was a safe space for posts like that, just celebrating the lifes of our old friends. It was one of the best subs I’ve been on.
