A lot of nobel laureates believe/believed a lot of unhinged nonsense. Some of my favorites:
Linus Pauling thought overdosing on vitamin C could cure all kinds of medical problems
James Watson and William Shockley were eugenicists
Irving Langmuir believed large-scale weather manipulation was possible with the technology available in the 1970s
Luc Montagnier was really into homeopathy and spread COVID vaccine/5G conspiracy theories
Kary Mullis denied that HIV causes AIDS
Just winning a Nobel doesn’t automatically make someone right about everything, even in their own field.
If that was true, why do we even have so many distributions?
Don’t ignore the fact that part of the reason there are so many distributions, desktops, window managers, etc etc is because a large number of skilled coders have outsized egos

You will get nowhere blaming individuals for systemic problems and also you’re alienating your potential allies like a true leftist so maybe chill on the class traitor stuff

Not OP but New England has many also

Salespeople at car dealerships (used or new), and dealership owners moreso. In North America they benefit from protectionist laws to keep people from buying cars directly from manufacturers, which adds approximately $2k to the sale of each car on average. Pointless middlemen who are almost universally the worst people you can imagine. And the dealer service shops are not much better than scams either.
Untitled Goose Game

Hyundai/Kia have a major problem with the integrated charge control units that they’re basically refusing to provide a long-term solution for. If it fails in one car, they just replace it with an identical module and hope it doesn’t happen again. But the root cause has not been addressed.

Maybe Texans should elect someone who won’t appoint stooges to the PUC

utilities management should remain under the purview of a publicly-accountable governing body

Charlie! You can never come back!

No you don’t get it, by redefining common words we can make society doubleplus good
what’s it like being the most cynical person on earth

Terminator 2 is always the classic example, been downhill since then though

Quibbling over the definition of “authoritarian” is kind of a red flag for a country that invented the term “gulag”
Defending the Soviet Union in this way has the same energy as someone claiming that the Nazis actually did some really good scientific research

You can organize and read theory without supporting Stalinism et al. A boot by any other name still tastes like leather

The Zapatistas don’t have enough tanks for .ml to support them I guess

Why don’t you take all this misplaced energy defending an authoritarian state with really excellent propaganda and use it to support a group actually doing some good like the Zapatistas or something

Do you have charts that include all the soviets combined or just Russia? Russia practiced its own version of imperialism over Siberia, Ukraine, etc so showing charts titled “Russia” is telling. Would love to see life expectancy in Ukraine following the holodomor

Things getting worse doesn’t mean they were good before lol
