I usually use --help as it also gives descriptions for the command, though some programs may only accept -h or no argument to show the help menu.
what are you doing in my lemmy profile

I do, but only for websites I already know, though usually I have those bookmarked.
uh i guess i’ll post a minecraft build somewhere on lemmy tomorrow if i remember to
oh actually my bad, i figured out how to do it declaratively
configuration.nix
{
pkgs,
config,
lib,
...
}: {
# ...
thigh-highs.enable = true;
# ...
}
my nixOS didn’t come with thigh highs
Yes, but also not really? Not sure if enabling “Keep Inventory” counts as cheating in survival Minecraft or if it counts as a play style. Of course creative mode is only cheating when you use it in a world that was meant for survival, but I haven’t done that. Really unsure what counts as cheating in Minecraft singleplayer to be honest.
Other games: no, not really, I don’t even know how to cheat in Hollow Knight for example, Universe Sandbox is fully a sandbox game so you can’t cheat, and…
Oh wait, I guess I did use Assist Mode in Celeste once? I think that counts as cheating since I didn’t really need assist mode at all I was just frustrated and wanted to have fun. Yeah, sometimes I cheat actually. It’s fun in singleplayer and doesn’t ruin the game for anyone else.
Obviously Emacs with Evil mode… or Vim with Vimacs?
4 spaces by default for indentation unless .editorconfig says otherwise.
yes, but actually no
I have Neovim, Helix and Emacs installed on my system…
that’s pretty disrespectful to say, you should be glad they can’t see it.

not sure why the default behavior is this:
file\ name\ with\ a\ bunch\ of\ spaces
instead of this:
"file name with a bunch of spaces"
but you can just press " before pressing tab to auto-complete, and it will use the 2nd form

I don’t understand why people still clean their asses with toilet paper in their own home. A handheld bidet + towel is a much better alternative, in my opinion.
I use Librewolf with a slightly edited Cascade CSS theme, plus the Catppuccin color palette. Works great and looks nice.

i’ll try that, although im not sure what options my uefi (asrock) has so i should probably search it up.
edit: thanks! it works, the option was under Advanced -> Onboard Devices or Onboard Configuration, something like that (though pavu control crashed a bit but maybe im just not familiar with having multiple audio devices)
NixOS is very good. It’s not easy, but it is powerful.
Interesting, I use fish shell and as far as I know it just shows you the options for most programs.
