Most phones have standard USB-C connectors where you can connect USB-C storage devices. For USB-A, you obviously need an adapter or a docking station.

You are right, these experiments really show that Linux is suitable for gaming, just some games aren’t running on Linux.
While I love good news for Linux gaming, this article is IMO a litre too positive. In the last part, notebookcheck picks the games that Linux distros were best in and presents a biased picture.
But the general message is positive: When games run under Linux, the performance is probably equal or better than with Windows. (And Windows has compatibility problems too).
Ooops, I didn’t watch to the end, only to the part where there was so much fume that I could almost smell it :D
I don’t think you can reduce air pollution by cooking sous vide. After the sous vide part, the food is probably grilled and then you have all the smoke again. See an example in this short video: Steak sous vide
I didn’t know that stoves with temperature sensors exist. That sounds like a really useful feature.
It is the only issue I had with jerboa, and that makes it the most annoying issue by definition.
But if I have the choice which app to use (and luckily, we have a few options), then I’ll pick the one that works best for me.
Summary: Use a vent hood (preferably one that blows the air out of your home) or open a window.
I think the UI itself is OK, but it feels very unnatural on an android device.
Jerboa has one open bug that makes it very annoying for me (Issue 194). Thats why I don’t use it anymore. However, this bug does not affect everyone.
Voyager and Liftoff are my favourite apps for Lemmy.
I’m not sure if a steam laptop would be successful. You can install steam on most laptops on the market (with some exceptions like ARM-based laptops or chomebooks). Same applies to a “steam console”, just pick any small PC and put steam in autostart.
However, the deck features innovative controls and a rare form factor. There is just no device that has the same feature set as the steam deck.
I hope that this improve in the coming months. The list is now twice as long as it was half a year ago. (And in theory, one could install steam in developer mode anyway, but that is not very convenient)
Last time I checked, steam on Chromebooks was only available on some selected models (not including the one I have). Has this changed? If not, this announcement will be for very few users (but still welcome).
I would be surprised if this would be possible. It seems that the revision is quite substantial.
This is the second month in a row we’ve seen Simplified Chinese jump up. This time it shows it at 45.93% (+13.71%), which for a single month is pretty huge swing. This has resulted in Windows 10 64 bit hitting 65.58% (+7.61%), sitting well above Windows 11. Every time this uptick in Simplified Chinese use on Steam happens, it brings down the results of everything else.
Honestly, the data quality of the steam surveys seems not optimal. It appears that their “randomness” is flawed.
Forcing FSR1 is possible (and was even possible before it was on Windows), FSR2 is not.
This is just one game with one particular graphics card, this might not be the same for example with nvidia cards.
This is a good thing and an interesting read, especially for developers and security-focused users.
“USB Stick” is the german word for “USB flash drive”. This sometimes leads to confusion.
And BTW, I have never seen any phone with an USB-A port. As you mentioned Linux phones, the pine phones come with USB-C.
