  • Lol, you’re funny. Nobody is calling anybody a nazi here. Only people outing themselves.

Let me spell it out for you again: being called a nazi is not some common experience people make. In general, people don’t feel like this is some huge problem that needs a broad discussion.

And of course I’m sure as fuck not engaging in your straw man discussions, haha. ‘Uhhh, don’t call people something they’re not, uhhh’. We’re not kindergarten children.

It’s funny to see you desperately trying to justify why the fuck you are so triggered by this to such an extent.

    Lol. No it doesn’t.

Here is what it literally says:

    1. Post ‘fuck nazis’.
    2. Watch for the ‘don’t call people you disagree with nazis!’ comments.
    3. You found the nazis.

Nowhere does it tell you to call out people. The second point tells you to watch for specific kind of comments. That’s 100% passive.

You know, exactly those kind of comments you provided.

  • Haha, you still don’t get it.

So let me explain it to you, real slow and simple.

The meme instructs you to post ‘fuck nazis’ and wait for reactions. There is no engaging besides that one statement. No other context. No discussion. Just this two words.

There is absolutely no reason to react to ‘fuck nazis’ with some deep philosophical discussion on how it might be problematic to call people nazis.

This might sound wild to you, so believe it or not, but next to nobody on the planet is being called a nazi. That’s not an experience the average person makes.

So it’s very telling when you actually are triggered. You are forcing a discussion on us nobody asked for.

    It’s so painfully obvious.

It’s so funny how you’re using so many words, going out of your way spreading what you think is some ultra deep next level wisdom - just to somehow justify why it’s ok to be triggered by ‘fuck nazis’.

Just so you know, a normal person see this, shrugs and is already on their way to the next thing on their mind. You don’t have to have a political agenda to not be triggered by this.

You’re so simple minded that you don’t notice how you’re hooked by this primitive mind trick.

And that you want to sound like some intellectual on top of that is just so hilarious.

  • Ok so I think it would be best to have two ways: One really completely foolproof way, where the user does not need to know a single thing about the technologies involved. 0 upfront homework for the user.

And then a second way for users willing to take the time to do a ‘manual setup’.

I created an AI slop clickable mockup real quick as it’s easier to bring the idea across than describing it with lots of words. This only covers the foolproof way.

    https://jsfiddle.net/da9m4nuq/

The main idea being to remove all possible friction for users who are the opposite of tech savvy - which imo are the absolute majority of all users.

The tricky part is preselecting a server for them. This will probably need a more or less manually curated list of servers which most people will be okay with - so no extreme opinions, not technical, big enough so they don’t seem empty on first sight. Done in such a way that the people get more or less equally distributed, so we don’t create one centralized instance.

But I think it is crucial to remove any friction for the users. Don’t let them do homework before they even know what Lemmy is and if it’s worth it at all.
