Wow AC shadows pre sale levels must be really bad. Not too surprising tho. Statistically sure but then it’s on the algorithm to recommend stuff that interests you more. Reposting things is just spoofing the recommendation algorithm and making things more likely to bubble up to you which is always going to cut both ways. Some people want duplication, others don’t.

Not to be that guy but no one expects someone to stumble on earlier posts and thus not repost them. But you can quite easily search for them before reposting the exact same thing. One requires luck the other requires care. It’s similar to not asking for support with an issue that’s already been discussed in a separate users question.

I enjoyed it but also did not think it was gonna have much mass market appeal. I think it being animated probably turned a couple people off but I quite liked that. Where it struggled is building actually likable characters and a coherent story. At least twice characters and plot points were so monumentally dumb it got hard to really suspend my disbelief and overlook it. The big villain of the movie is also depressingly 2dimensional.

I mean guardians of the galaxy is a very open concept. It’s basically cowboys in space. You can build onto that pretty easily in the direction you wanna go. None of apideys villains really have that kinda open background you can build on top of. And if you tried more likely than not you’d just make something unrecognisable. Like mysterio for example could probably pass in a real mystical environment where he relies on fake illusions but the end result would probs just be wizard of Oz :/.

I think the penguin is really shaped by the characters and the mob context. Spideys rogues gallery doesn’t have anything as gripping when spideys removed. Most of the characters also basically revolve around spider man so a story without him needs to find a way to fill the vacuum. Doc ock or lizard would basically just be boring science shows, goblin would be corporate action, or kraven would be nature doc. All of these are pretty boring.

A vulture prequel honestly could’ve worked. Maybe even just adapting the tinkerer style plot line with the vulture taking out a rival dealer whose much worse than him. Trouble with a parallel world vulture is that hiz dynamic with pete is basically the most interesting part of the character after homecoming and this would remove that.

I couldn’t find any clarification in the article but in guessing these are still x86_64 and from the description it seems like they’ve stacked a lot of different components into a single CPU core. Normally both those things would make it a big powerhouse so I’m not sure how it’s going to beat arm on baterry which competes by having a smaller simpler ISA that doesn’t need as much resources or complexity to process.

Man, despite loving Foss this whole debacle is so disillusioning for anyone that ever wanted to pivot to working on it full time. You don’t have to agree with people wanting to try new things, but the bare minimum is not to spew vitriol to keep them quiet or claim you’ll break their stuff and that’s their problem because they aren’t doing things the same way as you but still depend on a shared ecosystem. All we have to do is be bloody polite to each other and build cool sh*t, why is that so hard. All the best to the Linux rust rewrite for these folks, but to me it just feels like both projects are losing here. Linux losing the passion and drive for adopting more modern stuff and all the folks with that drive opting to restart from scratch because too many people refuse to get along.

I mean, that’s a pretty idea but really it’s just accepting monopolies outside of your personal means to affect. What the US is doing here is clearly profit and security focused, but Taiwan supremacy from what I can tell isn’t the byproduct of its location or assets, but instead decades of investment and support in producing chips which inexorably lead to it being the best. Really if anyone else is willing to invest that to become comparable it’s a good thing. It prevents a single entity dictating terms for everyone. In an ideal world we would just collectively share resources and things would cost a fair price for what it takes to produce them, sadly in a capital focused society its really whatever you make of it.

Eh, they really don’t. Maybe in shell scripts or when using a shell interactively but basically any modern language (read post perl) supports spaces fine and without any issue. only shell scripts with bad quoting show problems.

I had thought it was partially because spaces make urls completely unreadable since their replaced with %20. Dots have the advantage of being compact, self representing and not conflicting with any filesystem standard (that I’m aware of).
