The main counter argument was that this tax would make Switzerland quite unattractive to rich people, and that they would simple leave the country so that they don’t have to pay this tax. And then Switzerland would even lose tax income overall.
A few years ago I had to port a tool from HTBasic (a proprietary BASIC dialect) to Python. The original source only runs in their proprietary IDE. Of course, no comments whatsoever and a lot of GOTO magic and matrice calculations some of which have no other purpose as to confuse the reader. The variables had only cryptic and meaningless three digit letters. My theory is that they intentionally wrote it in a way that it would be a nightmare to reverse engineer. And they succeeded.

I gave it a try (on the website) and enjoyed it quite a bit. However, I would not pay for a more advanced AI. I’d rather pay for more content in the future, e.g. new characters or new scenarios. I liked the art style and high resolution graphics. The music can become quite repetitive. Also, some sound effects surely wouldn’t hurt. I played through the first two characters, the boomer and the influencer. I thought I messed up with the influencer, but apparently I did well and got a $1000 bonus. The change in mood of the customers was quite fitting. Unfortunately it’s not possible to resume a play-through or skip characters you already played against. It’s a very basic game and while you basically just argue with an AI, the graphics and very brief background story helped getting into my role. I liked it and it’s fine to pass the time for a few minutes, e.g. when commuting.
I know you’re probably referring to mobile apps. However, I only use a text expander on Desktop, where I can recommend espanso. It’s FOSS and doesn’t connect anywhere (unless you tell it to). I wouldn’t trust a non-open app that can read everything I type.

I don’t get that ‘Gentoo takes forever’ argument. With todays hardware it’s really a non-issue. Just let the updates compile in the background while you do other stuff. My Arch install broke several times, not so my Gentoo. Also, the Gentoo community is really kind and don’t treat you like an idiot for not knowing something.
What about Babylon 5?
This reminds me of the Danish movie Speak No Evil (2022) (not the US remake). I’d describe it as a social horror film, it was so uncomfortable to watch. It’s about the danger of doing nothing in the face of evil, in the name of ‘not causing offence’. One quote in paticular stuck with me: “Why are you doing this to us?” - “Because you let me”.
