11·10 days agoBackpackers commonly book no accommodations ahead of time. I’ve done that plenty.
Arrive at airport. Get cab. Drive to hotel number 1 and ask about room. Drive or walk to hotel 2 and ask about room. Repeat as often as desired. Return to hotel with best deal.
I can’t count how many times I’ve done this, having zero specific plans about where I am going to stay. Sometimes I just take the first hotel and then on the next day go look for something better. This is totally normal backpacker behavior.

Fuckin seriously? We all know what backpacking is. I’ve never pre-booked an entire stay when traveling internationally except when it’s for work.

Why do think this? I’m not aware of any shells that have such a feature. I’m not saying it couldn’t be done, but it would be a new feature.
I like the other suggestion of having a wrapper script that does what you need.

Maybe you can show her those things and point out that those behaviors do not create healthy relationships. If she agrees with him, maybe her relationship is also not healthy, and should be limited.

4·14 days agoThis is interesting. I haven’t heard somebody use “Apache” as a reference to httpd in a long time due to the rise of nginx and because Apache.org does so much more than just httpd these days.
But I agree. Apache httpd 0.x was one of the softwares that first showed me how much better Linux is than Windows. IIS at the time was an insecure confusing monstrosity. I wonder if it still is.
