Yeah, I had one working at some point but the others didn’t work out. It really does seem like Wine GE is where it’s at for me, it just works like 99% of the time no matter who the repacker is.

“The GDP warrants were designed for a world that no longer exists,” said Ukraine’s finance ministry on Thursday.
While that’s true, unfortunately you still issued them and powerful people hold them. Billionaires, with or without the IMF, will gleefully wring every dollar from your bones if they have to.
The “investors” even say in the article that if they can’t pay the $2.6B soon they’ll have to pay $6.6B later, so it should be a simple decision for Ukraine. Yes… a simple decision to put your people into poverty for the horrible crime of being invaded.
As we all know, nothing bad has ever happened when a country has an exorbitant debt after the conclusion of a years-long military conflict. So everything will be swell after Ukraine gives away nearly $3B instead of rebuilding the country.
IoT means Internet of Things and it’s mostly for purpose-built commercial applications, like running a computer as a kiosk or industrial controller. You could maybe put it on a Raspberry Pi or something.
If you want to run a gym, homelab, or office, Windows IoT may be for you. Otherwise, it’s not for you. The reason there’s no bloatware is to make your hardware run as smooth as possible so it can fulfill its fixed purpose.

If it’s the repacker I’m thinking of (JC), he makes it so complicated for no reason. Was that the case again here or was it someone else? I’d rather just use Lutris than his releases.
I’m a basketball fan, but the draft is a reset, and potentially a renewal for some teams that sucked last year. It’s a time for a fan to get hopeful (unless they drafted low or this year’s class is shitty).
Generally, it’s also an excuse to get really drunk, talk shit (online or in-person), and set up your fantasy league team. It signals the start of the season and gets you hyped up for pre-season matches featuring the new guys, even though you know pre-season doesn’t really mean shit.
There’s not much “special” about it, but if sports are a major hobby for you, following along whenever there’s an “event” is just something some people feel the need to do. Sports fans obsessing over the draft is kind of like people who are really into movies making a spreadsheet of all of the new movies for the year.
I think there must be an issue with federation because it’s still not correct for me.
When I started my last job (big multinational corporation) after an internship, I got 3 weeks of paid vacation right off the bat, with 1 more week every few years, up to a maximum of 7 weeks.
Plus 1 more week if I chose to “buy” a week by estimating the vacation I would accrue throughout the remainder of the year and subtracting 1 week’s pay from that.
The link goes to a completely different article about the sexual assault trial of 5 former world junior hockey players.
I think you meant to post this link.
My aunt is in your situation. French from birth, sprinkled with English, but English-only after age 7. She can still kind of speak French if she thinks really hard and uses English for half the words, but it’s mostly gone. She also speaks Spanish but learned as an adult.
Her native language and her first language are both French, but her primary language is English and her secondary language is Spanish. If you asked, she would probably say that her native language is English because she learned some as a child and barely uses French for anything.
His band is actually going to be doing more stuff now that Angus is winding down his political career and not seeking re-election. He did an interview with Rachel Gilmore a few weeks ago and mentioned it briefly.
Even when I went to elementary school over 15 years ago in Canada, kids weren’t allowed to be held back without written permission from their parents. I thought it was really fucking weird because we literally had a kid whose mom did all of his homework (everyone knew; he had horrible writing and she didn’t) and yet refused to put him in a remedial class or have him repeat a year.
Unfortunately, even if Hamas relinquished power tomorrow, I think the oppression and genocide of the Palestinian people will continue. There’s no reason for Israel to stop and they’ve still got the implicit and explicit backing of most of the world.
Next time you’re looking for a toaster, let me know; I have a bunch of refrigerator recommendations for you.
I am aware of the reality that banning trans people doesn’t stop abuse. I am rhetorically musing about how the people who genuinely believe this may react upon learning their problems have not been magically solved by the vocal radfems pushing the notion that trans women are unsafe.
You know, like the Trump voters who were shocked that he cut social spending because they’re living paycheck-to-paycheck? A “leopards ate my face” moment.
Is there an explicit vent space for trans people to talk about this topic? I am sick of being criticised for being upset that the world seems to hate my existence and trying to deal with it through commentary.
“But we counsel against reading this judgment as a triumph for one or more groups in our society at the expense of another - it is not.”
Yes it is. If it weren’t, you wouldn’t have said this to assure people:
The Supreme Court said trans people - whether trans women or men - would not be disadvantaged by its decision as the Equality Act afforded them protection against discrimination or harassment.
The UK has already created a “scapegoat class” of people whose appearance makes their minority status obvious in many cases and those who were rightfully reprimanded for unlawful discrimination are now retroactively suing their former employers.
In an example of the ruling’s potential impact, a Scottish health organisation that is being sued by a nurse it suspended over her response to a trans woman using a female changing room said it had noted the judgment.
This type of thing is going to further affect trans people’s access to homeless shelters and healthcare, at minimum. I wonder what’s going to happen when the cis women realize that banning trans people from their spaces didn’t actually fix anything and their husbands, boyfriends, and colleagues are still groping, beating, and forcing themselves on them.
Maybe you’re not being told for some sort of specific reason that may or may not end with -phobia. Might make you want to re-think whether “they won” or not.
Edit: Also Pride happens once a year, maybe get over it? This is the same energy as the Americans that want to end Black History Month. Do you tell your mom you’re tired of Mothers Day?
This isn’t a 3rd party tool, it’s a separate Steam Support page that lists your total purchases. It basically takes the data from the Purchase History section (assuming that you usually pay directly and not using Steam gift cards) and totals it so that you don’t have to do that manually.
Until humans invent mind reading and we can all do it easily without a moment’s hesitation, I will be using my turning indicator. Only idiots make fun of signalling.
I have a “I will not ever go back to Windows” mindset and I think that helps. If I fuck up my system to the point it’s not immediately fixable, I have a separate
/home
partition so I can wipe/
and start over without worrying too much. I look for answers to fix things on my phone when my system is inaccessible so I’m not stuck.I am really not a Linux expert, but I was a Windows power user and I like to fix things myself and understand the basics of why it broke.
