IMO people are naive to see something for so cheap and to assume that there is no chance of it being made of lead or bringing whatever other litany of monkey paw curses to whoever buys it.

It ia still a good spot to hang images in categories with citation. Unfortunately most users will never cite anything, and you’ll be stuck reverse image searching from the least user friendly website ever made.
I have no need for my Kindle services anymore. I bought books there for how easy it was to put on my electronic devices, and to easily make back up copies for later. If I can’t downloaf and reformat the e-book to easily make a physical copy I don’t want it.
I run 3d printer management software on an old Dell server using desktop ubuntu. Works just fine. I made a second user account that hosts a minecraft server, and a third user account that runs a steam account to host a 7 days to die server. I really wanted to get into administering my own home lab, but I’m just too casual and there is not enough time in the day for me to do all of my hobbies. I can remote in and see a GUI, easy day.
Public japanese toilets have bathroom cleaner dispensers on the wall with a picture saying to use toilet paper to clean the seat. The Japanese are notorious for cleaning up after themselves, as well as having clean public facilities.

You Really Think Someone Would Do That? Just Go On the Internet and Tell Lies?
You can pay almost $100 to get your TSA pre check every year and skip lines. Or better yet not travel during the holidays when the airport is struggling to handle all the people as it is.
It’s English, there are no rules. Call the cops, no one cares.
I am imagining the horrible graphics of Red Baron 3d (1998) played at a ludicrously crisp frame rate through VR goggles. The game had fast forward and play buttons because it took so long to fly over to the trenches or to ascend to a decent altitude. Solid idea though, it would be hectic with numerous biplanes dog fighting over France.
I enjoyed this a lot, thank you for the nostalgia.
Only about 4% of the worlds population had internet access in 1999.
The thought of having your digital foot print live on forever was kind of neat, but most of it wasn’t worth remembering or will probably get deleted after a few decades anyways. Future generations will ever know about the witty banter on yahoo answers.
Disc drive consoles are great for people who go months with terrible or no internet. People in the military, or just about anyone who goes out to sea can get a disc mailed to them. It is nice to have physical media to play the games off of.
I am pretty excited to slowly repost all my old content here over the course of several months to reap all those fake internet points again. It isn’t reposting if it is a new website.
I wish it had the same effect as version 4 of digg. He is probably still over there, editing posts he doesn’t like.
That is a huge bummer for people that spends months working places with very slow or no internet. It is getting harder and harder to get physical media, and every single device needs to be constantly touching the internet to work properly. I just find it so ridiculous you can’t buy a brand new console, and throw a CD / cartridge in it, and expect it to actually play a video game.
