It’s hard out in the world right now. I’ve been unemployed since I moved 🙃 no regrets yet but, starting to get nervous

I left a marriage and moved across the county

I’m sure there’s a few more but this is what I could think of off the top of my head. It gives you a starting place to check things out.

But for someone who knows none of this, I’d say starting with email is an easy (ish) one. Then whatever the main apps she uses are. Look for FOSS alternatives. It doesn’t need to be everything all at once all the time. One at a time is fine.

Also if she’s on Reddit and not the fediverse r/degoogle and r/privacy are still decent places to learn a few things. If she’s on neither, there’s a lady on most of the big social media platforms called “cut off the spigot.” She covers alternatives for a lot more than just Google though. A lot of finding alternatives to private equity companies.

Neocities I just checked it out and omg it feels like 2005 in the best way. Thank you.

I think we should bring back individual websites and blogs as well as web rings. Fuck the current state of search engines!

Check the stickied post or the side bar, both link to the budget comparison chart!

Actual has been my favorite so far but I’ve seen some interesting ones being developed lately.

I just went with the same as the Reddit sub because I’m lazy 😂😂 you’re not wrong though.

My bad I didn’t realize I didn’t uncheck the box to share to this community otherwise I would’ve put some info in the post! Thanks for clarifying for me.
