  • In the first place? We kinda did to begin with, you would phone the operator and say the name of who you wanted to phone.

Introducing phone numbers simplified this, given the operator would have to know or lookup their name, and allowed for the future introduction of automated systems. Such systems were analogue and DNS was far more advanced than them. I guess the telephone becomes so widely used and integrated under that system that it still uses a similar interface today, albeit with a cluster of different modernised interconnected backends

  • I’m pescetarian, so I will eat fish, most of what I eat is either vegetarian or vegan. So it’s certainly easier for me than you. But here’s the thing, I was brought up this way, therefore I don’t like the taste of meat and don’t want imitation stuff either.

But I have no difficulty with this at all. A lot of dishes just have meat in them, but they really don’t need it, they’re good without it, it’s not the base of the dish. The foods in shops that are prominently labelled “vegan” or “plant based” are primarily meat and dairy alternatives, because there’s no need to label all the other things that have always been inherently plant based. At least in recent years it’s becoming trendy to label these foods “plant based” that would never have had meat in them anyway, it makes it clearer, but it’s not always the case and there’s no real need to.

In the sentence “you have a problem”, “have” is the main verb. When reduced to the clitic “'ve”, it becomes a weak form and is only expected to be used as an auxiliary verb. These types of verbs must be followed by the main verb. “a” is not a verb. Thus, we insert “got”.

If we do not insert “got”, the stress in the sentence moves and it sounds overly affected.

I’m not too sure, but I think “be” (“is”, “are”) is the only verb that can be contracted and still remain a main verb. I’m not too sure why.

  • The more control I have, the more likely I am to wake up, which is pretty annoying. Although, on the flip side, waking up through choice to avoid bad dreams is how I originally developed the skill of lucid dreaming. Noticing the signs of waking up and choosing to stay asleep is kind of a weird thing to do too, but it can lead to sleep paralysis.

However in any case, the level of control I have varies. Often, I am able to fly from danger or decide something didn’t happen and try again. More rarely I know there are no consequences to any of my actions and can completely control space, time and narrative. It’s odd knowing it’s a dream, but it still feels real. Though, still with a dream brain memory and dream logic, I’m not necessarily thinking as sensibly as I would do when awake.

  • With a little knowledge, it’s not very hard to make your own messaging app and share it with those you know. And there’s plenty projects online that give you what you need without having to write the code yourself. Alternatively, there’s just plenty dark web and under the radar apps already that won’t bend to this ruling.

What it is, though, is very inconvenient and annoying to do so.

But if you’re an actual criminal, then there is this solution here that can never be subject to this ruling.

So what this clearly means is that the EU will violate the privacy of all the everyday people that don’t handle that inconvenience, pushing the serious criminals to dark channels.

  • I’m sore that they’d actually planned single player content for GTA V, akin to that of GTA IV. TBOGT and TLAD were so good, like full standalone games, but just reusing most of the map, assets and engine. However when GTA Online’s success exceeded expectations, they cancelled the single player content and cannibalised it into sub-tier disjointed online junk, leaving behind unresolved single player storylines and hints, that were supposed to feature in the expansions, in their wake.
