I just started scrobbling with Listenbrainz. I do it through an anonymous account, and the scrobbling comes through my self hosted music server.
I’m trying it out to see if I like the recommendations. If I do I’ll consider it a fair trade off in privacy for now.

Demons by Allison Russell. Honestly, I’m obsessed with the whole album, but this track in particular has me captivated.

I think you’d need to sync it to the android client, rather than import it. I self host Joplin server for my sync backend, and use the app across my mobile and desk computers. I don’t love Joplin, but it’s the best self hosted, private, end to end encrypted notes app available on all platforms that I could find.
How do you put your tabs on the side? That sounds amazing.

I really like using Joplin Server. For awhile I was syncing through nextcloud, but in the end nextcloud didn’t really work for me so I switched my Joplin notes over.
I also use Joplin, I self host Joplin server for the sync, with e2ee enabled. It’s been rock solid for me.
I love that feeling. I’ve recently been learning about zfs as I add it to my server and make use of it in my setup. In doing so I had to utilize my container and data backups to migrate data from a single drive to my new zfs raidz array. I felt damn accomplished after doing so!
I’ve had one go at Neuromancer and the language definitely made it a more difficult read for me. I want to read it again (I voted for it in the poll), and I think on my second go it’ll be more enjoyable.
This pisses me off as well. All the advertising was/is “VPN! Privacy protected!” As if it’s that simple. All this fud about VPN feels like a combo of blowback from shitty advertising practices. When you combine that with government efforts to take away encryption, VPNs, and other privacy tools; what’s coming is gonna be a bleak panopticon.
Oh dang. I’m going to have to give that a spin.
