  • I mean this is clearly to be expected. The russian people have suffered many times from rulers that only understand their people as resources.

We should be looking at this and do the opposite: Invest in schools, education, infrastructure and culture. Those however are the very things we save money first and i am unsure how other countries are faring but in germany we were told we need to save money. Years after years. Now all of a sudden we have hundreds of billions for weapons again.

Like i get it, we prepare for war but i sure don’t have to cheer it on. And to be honest, reading about russia every day does only increase the dread.

I asked my self yesterday: At what economical price would come peace in ukrain with designing something that lets them keep their right to self determination. I have no idea but sending them weapons seems to be the economical answer we found.

  • We only think we are. We are sitting in the same boat and don’t dare to leave it. Trump has to be seen more as a sympton of our political and economical system not being able to enact changes that betters the lives of the majority of people.

Middle east? We don’t want to change our design Social Injustice? The poor aren’t working enough and also they steal our jobs Climate Change? We can’t afford to do what needs to be done. We will just have to acclimate to a vastly different world somewhere in the future… Wars and conflict? Our allies have no other way and some countries need simply to be toppled as to get better contracts for them companies

I could go on or into detail but thinking that we can push back autocracy without getting rid of the old sins and problems will not work out. Until we realise this, autocracy will try anything and everything to uphold the status quo for as long as possible.

  • Imagine needing Xenophobia to deflect from the fact that one has no better ideas than everyone else. Just put those problems on migrants and pretend to fix something by deporting.

The most ironic part is that our system NEEDS fresh human capital as we are not able to get our greedy little hands on any other ressources right now and thats not good for our economy.

Our god (the economy) is dying and all our system knows is to carry on, prevent reform und deflect.

I’d like to quote the wise Rage Against The Machine: “Burn, burn, yes, you’re gonna burn”

  • I feel with you, being Anti-Zionist in the U.S. gotta suck even more.

One thing that has goven me hope is how more people than one might think are ready to change their views once they looked at the oppression and the resulting suffering. They do not need to instantly recognize it as a genocide and still will lose faith in Zionism. I showed my Zionist mom “No Other Land” and she was shocked. I was shocked she watched until the end but oh so proud.

On the off chance of losing some, i am now convinced that i can make more people look at the horrors and help them to form a more educated opinion, that hopefully leads to action.

Heads up mate, not all is lost and you yourself are the evidence that people in the U.S. can be on the left. We can’t let ourselves be beaten down be the mainstream-narrative that is designed to uphold the status quo. These forces are also present right here in the internet so we will have to take it to the streets eventually.

Tha is a pretty shallow take. Every government for the last decades has supported the subjugation of the Palestinians. While the Democrats are not as open about their complicity and might even have shown some minor support at this point in the genocide i very much doubt that the U.S. would agree under any government to steps like sanctions.

Blaming the election on Palestine supporters is a really american centric view of the whole conflict but that is to be expected from americans.

Maybe stop blaming and instead take ANY action you can against the fascist apartheid regime that is Israel.

  • I mean if you are educated about the history of the state that is israel you would know that is very much a western, not to say british, project. After WW2 the U.S. has taken lead with arming and backing Israel in anything they do but Europeans laid the ground for everything. We do not need Russia for western imperialism, racism and complete disregard for humans life. We do that all on our own aswell. Like do not get me wrong, i absolutely despise todays Russia. But Israel really was not their project.
