France is not really different from other European countries when it comes to religion. And often “laicité” is used to enforce an “identity” politics based on Christianity. Recently i joined lemmy, bcs on reddit saying that you don’t think fomenting a war is a good thing gets you permabanned. Reddit used to be a relatively free and welcoming place, with different opinions and a good degree of tolerance. Now it’s just neo-liberals ghouls and bleeding hearts liberals.
