I like The Verge and Wired. They occasionally post dumb Top 10 product articles, but I like the quality and quantity of their other articles enough to let it slide

Agreed, active is interesting and may be useful in some situations (maybe if you want to keep up-to-date on new comments on big posts) but I feel like hot lets new posts show up more easily.

I noticed earlier that the link explaining the post sorting methods was broken, similarly to the link you had trouble with. I checked the github someone else posted here, and it looks like there’s already a PR merged fixing the sort link, but since you found that other broken link, I bet there’s more similarly broken ones. Not sure if that’s been reported or fixed yet.
