I’m not saying that governments are the most trustworthy institutions in the world, but as someone who tried to be an early adopter of blockchain from both a tech and a financial perspective, I immediately assume that anything that has the word “crypto” in it is deeply flawed and inherently untrustworthy. I’ve unfortunately learned this from experience.


I trust governments with fiat currency a hell of a lot more than I trust anything that has to do with crypto.

From the perspective of someone who has been on Lemmy for a few years now, I’ll say that the amount of content here has become large enough for me to use Lemmy as a “daily driver” account. I don’t miss out on important news or updates by using Lemmy instead of Reddit…in fact it often feels quite the opposite

I’m probably the most vocal person for car-free lifestyles and micro mobility in my community, and I absolutely hate the the effect that these stupid things have in the car-free discussion.
At least as their existing solutions were rolled out, they made public spaces uglier and more dangerous for all involved.
I use it pretty heavily for tracking books that I want to read in the future. I follow multiple people who share similar tastes to me, and so I’m able to find a lot of really awesome books just by seeing what they’re reading.
