  • Joking about jews or saying the n word never made anyone a fascist. Fascism didn’t even include antisemitism, it was just added later on because of Germany’s policies. Calling pewdiepie a fascist is wrong intellectually, historically, politically and ideologically.

The only people normalizing fascism are the ones calling everything fascist and making the word lose power and giving new blood to the idea of fascism.

Fascism is a very specific thing, born in a very specific country and with a very specific ideology. Not every authoritarian country is fascist. Not every racist idea is fascist.

People were idiots before fascism. And they can be idiots without being fascists now too.

It’s the same as calling communist everyone that ask for minimum wage or free/cheap healthcare. It’s dumb.

Oh, then I’m glad I’ve been helpful! Of course it doesn’t stop the yeast completely, but it hinders it.

About the oil, that’s interesting. Maybe it’s different in other countries because of different availability. Here in Italy it’s always used (similar amount to salt but 1~2% of the flour weight more compared to salt) Of course only extravirgin olive oil, not sure about the results with other oils

I usually add it last, after flour, salt, water and yeast.

Some pizzas also have some fresh oil on them after cooking, but dipping is too daring for my weak traditional heart.

But if the results aew good, that’s all that matters

Is there a reason why you’re not using oil for the dough? Also (probably you already do but I’ll say for people reading) never mix salt and yeast directly, one should be added only when the other is already absorbed and well mixed. Salt contrast yeast chemical reactions. A simple way is to melt salt in the water beforehand

  • Yeah, but the admin clarified in some replies that the moderation problems and possibility of receiving ads are already enough to choose to defederate. They didn’t give the absolute certainty but basically made their intentions clear.

But I agree with you, most people wanted to get a clear message against it and not just a “if that happens we will very likely defederate”.

I still think both approaches are fine, it’s good to decide by ethics and it’s good to wait and decide by rationality too. No wrong choices, it’s just a matter of preference

  • They explained the situation very well, and it’s not exactly as you described it.

Thread is outside the fediverse now, so there is literally nothing to defederate.

And they already basically admitted that in case of threads federating, they would defederate.

It was one of the few instances (if not the only one) to put down exactly what practical problems federating would cause instead of simply taking an ethical stance or regurgitating the usual nonsense EEE argument.

But people wanted an immediate, strong and ethical stance (which is also understandable), so they didn’t like the wait and they didn’t care about an objective analysis of pro and cons
