I have it on my 3:2 laptop that I occasionally plug into my 21:9 monitor and it generally just works; though the trackpad navigation is what really makes it for me.

3·8 days agoNo problem! The company who provides the models also forked llama.cpp while they wait for their PR to be approved if you’re curious about it.

2·18 days agoHonestly I think it would be hard to use. Even with my relatively slight prescription I had to squint a little to actually see some of the text on the KDE desktop

1·18 days agoAs BigPotato mentioned, they’re basically two small 1080p120 monitors built into some bulky eye glass/sun glass frames.
There’s no cameras onboard and you can’t actually see through them, though the pros I have let you dim the sun glass effect to see your desk/keyboard.
I also like how they’ve built speakers into the arms of the frames, almost reminds me of the bone conducting headphones.

2·18 days agoI have the original Viture pros and can confirm. I’m decently near sighted at like -3.25 and can reasonably use them without my contacts or personalized lenses.

8·18 days agoAwesome setup OP!
Quick PSA to anyone reading, “XR” glasses like the Viture or XREAL offerings paired with an awesome project called breezy-desktop (https://github.com/wheaney/breezy-desktop) also provide an excellent experience, and the glasses can be found for around $300-400. I played a decent amount of STALKER 2 with them and it was great.
It was conker’s bad fur day that got me 🌻

Technology@lemmy.world•Datacenter rush will create ‘tsunami’ of discarded electronics, report saysEnglish
2·29 days agoIt’s quite a ride lol. There’s a group of people on the level1techs forum trying to get mi250x OAM units working on similar hardware.
I made a post about my own lab earlier this year too: https://lemmy.world/post/47291115

7·29 days agoChinese sellers on ebay have been making sxm2 mezzanines that use standard slimsas connections for a while. They even go up to sxm4-5. I have dual nvlinked v100s with their giant 4u tower coolers, some arctic 92mm fans and PTM for the TIM and they never break 70c under load for my personal use.
They definitely aren’t the flashiest, but local LLMs have come a long way in a short time to the point where they are quite nice to work with.
honestly, systemd isn’t that bad. I’m finishing some free labs for the CompTIA Linux+ sysadmin course and learning how to compose bash scripts into services is going to be great for my homelab.
I completely ditched windows at home in early 2020 and used fedora until last year when I took the plunge into NixOS. I knew how to do things in Linux, but I wanted to understand the underlying system structure. NixOS helped pull back the veil a bit.
Using NixOS was when I finally felt like I started to understand Linux. I don’t think I could go back lol

Linux@lemmy.ml•Do we think the Framework 13 is ever going to be in stock?
31·2 months agoI’m using a surface laptop studio with the linux-surface kernel (NixOS, btw :p).
It’s actually quite repairable compared to some other offerings and are generally available used on ebay. I won a $610 bid for mine with an i7, 32gb RAM and a 3050ti. I think all the models have the same 120hz 3:2 screen too. I’m incredibly pleased with it.
If using Linux is wrong, I don’t want to be right.
It seems like the guy in the OP didn’t understand that the pickled ginger is actually there as a delicious pallet cleanser to allow you to enjoy the variety of rolls more fully.

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•How do I become more "woke"? Just to aggervate the right a little.
6·3 months agoIdk if it counts but I work in the auto industry and regularly pop conservatives bubbles about how “great” Elongated Muskrat is.

I just got a few nix containers working in my setup where one even generates its own .ini file based my attempts to formalize a syntax for how I configure some services, which is then immediately used by those services on rebuilds.
I know that’s not the point of your excellent meme, but I had to gush lol
