I have found that every extra “community” server I join ends up getting muted and forgotten until I eventually leave it. I think Discord having a really low barrier to entry (free, insta-hosted servers) is why it is chosen nowadays.

But yes, I find it works best as a sort of advanced IRC replacement for my gaming group.

Not trying to immediately change your mind, but Garuda added a Hyprland spin with their latest release. Boot into the live ISO and see what you think.

Same experience here. Been full time Linux gaming for a couple years now and have been able to play every game I’ve tried.

Not sure if it’s coincidental timing, but I installed the Nvidia 535 driver at the same time as this update and was having the same sounding issue. I backed down to 525 as I have many times before and the game worked again. (I don’t know what it is but the 535 driver hates my PC.)

Me too. I’m looking forward to giving this Linux release a spin!

Well I hate to say it but so far I can’t get any audio from the game when running the Linux build. Of course as soon as I post it, I see a comment online saying that the sound properties were altered and need to be turned up much louder in the Options menu. I had to crank the game from 15% up to 100%, but it’s there and working well so far!

Garuda is based on Arch so it might not fulfill op’s desire for real exploration.
