Same. I got on it in 2006 and it was great up until about 2010, 2013-2014 was when the shit started to hit the fan.

I’ve been using android since 2010, and it’s gotten significantly better over the years. There’s only a few things it doesn’t back up, like text messages and app data, most of which you don’t need.
It is pretty funny, I bet he’s kicking himself right now for it.

The Shield is great for playing media, but it’s definitely not under €100 (at least the last time I checked, I’m also American). Also changing our the launcher doesn’t stop all the “phoning home” that everything does, DNS blocking will help with that though. Also, the hardware isn’t as great as it used to be.

Yeah, that would definitely not go anywhere. Roku isn’t hacking into their device. OP probably bought a Roku Smart TV for like $75 (the cost is subsidized by Roku, hence why it’s so cheap) and is now complaining about it. It’s like buying an Amazon FireTV and then complaining about Amazon having control over the TV.
Edit: am I saying it’s right? No, but sometimes it pays to read the EULA. If you’re getting something for cheap, there’s probably a reason for it.

And this concludes the enshitification of everything.

Mine doesn’t do that 🤷♂️ Although it doesn’t keep bugging me to accept the Google Assistant ToS, which isn’t new and I’ve already done it like three times.

For me, it was my boss gave me a programming task which he knew would take hours or a day or two… and then 15 minutes later tells me to “switch focus” and do a menial task that any of my five coworkers could do 🤦♂️
Roman numerals only!
Everyone should be aware of the dangers of DHMO! Millions of people die every year from it!

It’s not just Amazon, but any streaming platform that uses Widevine.

It’s no necessarily Brew’s fault either, but more the shitty way Apple decided to implement it.

My parents are getting older and I want to see them as much as I can while still living where I want to. IMO its ridiculous to be like “live in a place you don’t like because you want to see your family often or live where you want to and rarely see your family.” There is a middle ground. Yo may be cool with seeing your family once a year, I’m not.

It’s not hate, biologically they’re still men. Sex changes and HRT doesn’t change your chromosomes.

Yes, wanting to see your family is idiotic 🙄

What you consider “normal” isn’t exactly normal. This isn’t the 1800s.
Umm you know that trains take energy to run right? The energy doesn’t come out of thin air. Most trains either run off diesel fuel which is dirty as hell or they run off electric and that energy is usually from burning fossil fuels.
So your suggestion is “don’t use this one method of transportation that burns fossil fuels, use this other method of transportation that takes longer and still burns fossil fuels!”
Really great argument you have there! 🤦♂️

So people aren’t supposed to move anywhere in your opinion, and if you do,just forget about seeing them for years. The US is a hell of a lot bigger than any European country.

Of course genetic mutations are a pretty common thing, but some are minor (like your red hair example), some are “WTF? How did that happen?” mutations, and some are straight up deadly like the various forms of cancer.
Women being XX is a classification (?) we’ve all agreed on because like 99.8% of people with XX chromosomes are women. Mutations are literally something out of the ordinary that shouldn’t happen.* A woman shouldn’t have XY chromosomes because almost every woman in history that we know of has XX chromosomes*.

So you’re supposed to lessen your relationships just because you moved away?
A lot of creators have just turned into corporate shills. I stopped watching ETA Prime’s channel about tech reviews because it was becoming pretty clear that mostly everything he got was paid for by the company. Also, most creators are putting their own ads into their content.
