  • I tried soylent (powder and premade) years ago and I didn’t mind the taste or feel (some people dislike it). But I always felt “off” after drinking it, and overall didn’t enjoy it, but it might have gotten better since.

I started drinking huel a year or 2 ago, for exactly the same reason as you. It was perfect for a while, but the changed the receipt not too long before they got acquired and the lead report came out, and since then its not as “satisfying” as it was before.

If you do go with huel, I recommend the black edition, the higher protein helped me not feel hungry for longer.

  • I didn’t pirate that movie, I was training my AI. I didn’t hack that company, I was demonstrating value to my shareholders. I didn’t run that red light, the self-driving AI I vibe-coded hallucinated that the light was green, only happens 20% of the time. I did my homework, but the AI broke the guardrails and deleted it. I didn’t fart, those are just the fumes from the data center that my city council were bribed to force through even though 99% of their constituents showed up to voice their objection against it.

  • I think your 3rd paragraph perfectly demonstrates the underlying issue, the “posted a message, with zero knowledge at all of linux” part.

People learn differently, and have different approaches to learning something new. Some people prefer to ask for input, advice, or opinions from other people they belive to be more knowledgeable. Others prefer to read and absorb as much information as they can to get a solid foundation, and only reach out to others when the information they need is not readily available, or their issue is nuanced and specific.

Neither approach is right or wrong, they’re just different, because people are different. The former view the the latters as being toxic, and the latters view the formers as being lazy. Linux and more technical communities with more of a learning curve typically are made up of the latter.

Disclaimer: not defending, excusing, justifying, just 1 persons lived experience, grain of salt yata yata

  • You’re not clear on why you’re posting this, or what you want out of people’s responses.

You’re not clear on why you think you’re a bad friend, or why you’d be a burden to others just by interacting with them.

You’re not clear on what you know you have to do, but just aren’t doing.

Just saying/writing/admitting to something is helpful, because it forces you to confront it (and will be brought up in therapy anyway, so might as well do the prep work now). Just saying outloud the answers might make you realized how silly they are, or how they’re all connected, or what your priorities really are.

I apologize if this goes against your request, but as I mentioned, you were clear with your expectations.

I can related to your gas station metaphor, I feel that constantly due to gestures broadly at the world.

You’re too young to give up on marriage and parenthood, raw data shows that’s not true, you’re not even running behind yet.

And making one last assumption, but being distant or isolating yourself doesn’t make you a bad friend, and asking for help doesn’t either, only always asking for help and never asking about them does.
