Speak for yourself, but there are a whole lot of us here that don’t want anything he’s selling. Not all of us have been “groomed to accept everything from their perceived leader.” Also a lot of us that are genuinely embarrassed about his actions and their impacts on the rest of the world and want it to stop nowish.
My personal guess (just a guess, since none of this makes any logical sense) is that he’s going to use the very high tariffs on those islands to help him with some creative accounting in showing overall wins when all of this is over - increasing the pittance that these islands are likely paying us already, let’s call it turning $100 into $150 - no meaningful benefit to the US, but looks amazing by the percentages.
“See, I tariff’d the whole world for a 5.5 gajillion percent increase in US revenue! I’m a big winner!”
I like the comic, but bro, the apostrophe horror. Or was the joke that MAGATs can’t use apostrophes? In that case, A+ and beautifully subtle.
I miss the heyday of BBSs and IRC. That’s when the internet was fun, and tinkering brought new discoveries every day. Now it’s mostly just annoying.
That bean would need size XXXL jeans.
That was his brother, Jimmy “Beans” Levi-Strauss
TIL: SAP is still around. That name makes me think of the nineties.
Ah - you’re right (seems to be “pebble OS” but not Google hardware). It’s still all over my feeds today though.
Marketing department at Pebble is apparently familiar with social networks cause they seem to really be doing the rounds today (lemmy, hacker news, etc).
Can confirm - Virginia wine is just not good (red wines in particular). Have had a white or 2 that were ok.
No one deserves to drink wine from Virginia (coincidentally, where Trump’s winery is). California has proven for decades that they can stand on equal footing to anything produced in France (sorry France - I still love you).
Was on a flight a few months ago, and when we landed, no clapping - dead quiet. Out of the silence, I heard a, what must have been, six year old shout really loudly “WE DID IT!”.
“Too many,” or is “far to many” a new phrase that the younger folk are using? I’m trying to keep up with the changes to language.
Ceramic is an insulator (does not conduct heat well) and cast iron, well, conducts heat well. You’d get the same results with glass instead of ceramic.
Resurrecting their commercials from the 90’s now, it would go like this:
Duuuude, you’re gettin’ a Dell.
Oh…… dang.
Amazing how relevant a poem written just after WW2 is to how people voted in this last US election.
Yes, I know a little German
I dumped Adobe completely several years ago, and found that Pixelmator has been an excellent Photoshop replacement. It even now does vector images - used to use an app called Graphic for that (for an Illustrator replacement), but should now be able to do all of that from Pixelmator.
