Techcrunch has basically been an ad network for companies who want to promote themselves. Other open source projects probably don’t have a budget to pay for an a̶r̶t̶i̶c̶l̶e̶ ad spot.

I’ma b̶u̶i̶l̶d̶ m̶y̶ o̶w̶n̶ b̶r̶o̶w̶s̶e̶r̶ w̶i̶t̶h̶ b̶l̶a̶c̶k̶j̶a̶c̶k̶ a̶n̶d̶ h̶o̶o̶k̶e̶r̶s̶ complain on an internet forum about how unfair it is that they are going against my principles and are making money off of it. They gotta ask for handouts like the rest of the opensource projects out ther. I’moutraged. They gotta learn their place.

It’s unacceptable, I tell ya.

I only wish that f-droid could check for updates for apps that are installed. On PC it makes sense to download the whole repository and install updates. But for mobile with battery power, it seems slow and wasteful. Ya, it doesn’t take long but could have been a lot shorter.

For checking latest apps, it’s required. But seems a lot for people who have 2-3 apps installed
