I think what you can take away from this is that you’re good at your work and respected by your colleagues. You don’t owe them anything though, and they don’t control you. If you’re satisfied with what you’re doing now, get used to confidently explaining why, and thank them for their praise.

The movie Koyaanisqatsi has some documentary footage of New York City streets from the late 70s, and there are some scenes where they’re packed. I’ve never been to NY so can’t speak from experience, but if they’re less busy now, maybe that has to do with cultural changes and the internet replacing much of what we used to do in real life?

Trump said in a social media post “consider Venezuelan airspace closed.” He didn’t say anything at all in an official capacity, much less take any steps to set up a no-fly zone, which is what it would take to actually close Venezuelan airspace. This is just a thought he had while he was pooping

I watch chefs on YouTube demonstrate techniques, and then make recipes up as I go based on the ingredients I have available (This does not work for recipes that require exact measurements, like breads). Finding recipes through search engines has been a nightmare for a looong time.

Also - Madhur Jaffrey and America’s Test Kitchen cookbooks. Both go into detail on techniques you can bring forward into all your cooking. Madhur Jaffrey taught me how to cook Indian food and it’s amazing
