  • No it is not. It is to you and your context. When it comes to plant-based milk, anything other than soja and almond is considered very exotic in France, most of people have never tried it. French people have coffee black or with cow milk. Lactose-free cow milk is part of everyday life and most of people don’t have milk in their coffee if they don’t want cow milk. As for latte, it is not a everyday drink but a treat and in many place people will not understand you are ordering a latté (litt: of milk) if you don’t even plan of having milk.

  • Honestly, there is a bit of a pride fight in France between the butter cuisines at the North of the Loire river and the olive cuisines at the South of the Loire. So it might not be that much against the idea of make the dish vegan.

Still that useless, stupid pride. I cook burgeondy dishes with olive oil whenever I feel like it and it is still very good. Not quite the same taste but delicious nevertheless.

  • “almond juice” has been called “almond milk” in the french language since middle age. That’s not the issue here. The guy probably order something that was not on the carte. That’s it. There is coffee shop than specialise in fancy and complicated coffee based beuvrage. In a regular café, you should check the menu before asking for your favorite drink for a shop at home.

  • Yes, this is closer to what I got in mind. I don’t use Bluesky but it seems like a good idea.
What I mean exactly was some way to build a view, or a portal, of the fediverse content when we substrate what we don’t like rather than adding it. It may take the form of label or another form. I may take a form of something close to a community or a feed throught which people browsing may get rid of content that doesn’t match the view of the "portal they are surfing on.

I don’t think @Snoopy@piefed.social it has to be unique. Just like we have multiple !aww community we could have a !nodowner !positivity !nonegativity portals all living along each other present each a slightly different view of the fediverse.

  • A workaround could be to make several Lemmy alts - one for each type of content you would want to include in your Subscribed feed. Like one could be only uplifting news. Most of the time you’d be looking at the same older content though… without being able to widen your view that would allow bringing in of new content.

I’m already doing that but I was looking for a collaborative way to build a common browsing experience by filtering out. PieFed’s feeds are great, I love them but they are working by selecting not filtering.
