Not rendering != despawn entities and respawn entirely new entities every time your camera changes direction. They also advertised it as NPC’s each having their own unique routines, etc. Talk about overpromising and underdelivering. This broke immersion too much for me to play the game. The second I hit the city and saw how NPC’s were handled, I was done. It’s unfortunate, because I thought the map design, sound, graphics, and gunplay all seemed really good.
Yeah, I’m probably understating what happened to the dev. I don’t know the entire story. I just wish them the best.
Thank you for the clarification. The screenshots for the game on Steam’s site led me to believe it was a horror-romance focused game that heavily leaned on incest. In either case, this is likely not a game for me. Good on the dev for being able to step away from the drama and focus on their work. Shame on people for harassing them.
I’m all for supporting developers not being harassed, but what the hell is that screenshot library? What even is this game? I stopped scrolling after a bit because the dialog looks…gross, at best, if not straight up soft incest porn.

I have only played a few hours, but I recall what I thought was a side quest involving pigs, which was a great quest. Are you suggesting that memorable side quests are infrequent and can/should be skipped?
I personally couldn’t make it past the “no object permanence” issue, where NPC’s would just spawn into and out of existence depending on where the camera was pointing. It was like a magician brought a clear cloth to the table to perform a trick, and we could see how the trick was performed the entire time. It doesn’t make his performance less impressive, but it sure would make it less immersive.
That’s unfortunately true. There are not many developers/publishers I would trust to purchase their products on release day.
I need to get back to playing W3. It seems like a great game by all accounts. But, I will not be purchasing another game from CDPR until at least 6 months post-release given the state of CP2077. Not only was it released in an unacceptable state, it wasn’t the game that was promised. There have been so many good games released between last year and this year, I can wait until ~2030 if they need to take their time polishing it and making it a complete experience.
There’s been at least a couple.
It takes an extra 16 months of work or so, but you can technically get a GUI working in Gentoo.

This room should have been cut back ~10-15 sq. ft. and had its entrance in the hallway next to the top of the stairs. There are so many things wrong with this. Not to mention the obvious “you can step outside and fall” issue, imagine trying to close the door while entering the room and slipping. Imagine casually walking up the stairs when you’re suddenly hit in the face with a door. Imagine the slammed toes when someone coming up the stairs closes the door so they can keep climbing steps. This is a hazard for people, pets, robot vacuums, and inanimate objects passing through the stairway or doorway. Hell, even things falling down the stairs can get caught between the door and the stairs and create an additional hazard. How do you egress out of the door and go downstairs in the event of a fire? I don’t even know where to begin with this.
This would lead to slapstick levels of injuries. You could open the door, smack someone in the face, who then falls down the stairs, then you go to close the door and hit someone in the face trying to go down the stairs, who then themselves falls down the stairs…
EDIT: Shit. I’m not done. Opening the door creates a blockade preventing everyone upstairs from exiting the house through the stairway. Opening the door too far would rip the hinges from the door. Just standing in the stairway using your keys would lead to standing on completely uneven flooring. Imagine trying to unlock this door to enter the room while drunk. Ever get your shirt caught on the doorknob? What happens when you open the door and have a piece of clothing or a strap wrapped around the knob?
What world is it where robots do art while humans do the tedious manual labor?

That game holds a special place in my heart. I wish Scott well.
I wasn’t going to jump on it because I have an enormous game backlog, but buying the bundle (pre-launch), since I already owned the first one, was $25. Money very well spent for this game in my opinion.
Talos Principle 2.
I know you can’t put a true price on privacy, but I can clearly state that this goes beyond reasonable pricing for me. $1800, plus $180/year in fees for bags/membership subscription. That’s a $3600 + battery and parts replacement investment over 10 years, and who’s to say the app/device firmware will be supported that whole time? The extended warranty is for two years. There doesn’t appear to be information on repairs outside of the warranty, which requires the subscription for 2 years for the extended warranty. This sounds like a disaster of a product from an ecological standpoint.
It shouldn’t cause the victim anything for this. Just get the parking garage people to call the towing company.
