I made the mistake of buying a 14tb external drive there that I needed that day and couldn’t afford to wait since I had a drive failing. Little did I know they dropped their return policy to 15 days but even bringing it back on day 8 after the drive burned up from overheating from copying 14tb of shit they rejected it and said that it was “all scratched up” because it has the crappy piano black finish you can scratch with your nail.

Got it replaced through the manufacturer and pretty much opted to never go back to a best buy after that. Used to be one of my favorite stores but all the anti consumer bullshit is driving it into the ground. Made a minor issue way more pain than it ever needed to be

Not the person you replied to but I liked the openness in the original a lot more, 2 and 3 were fun but I got nowhere near the replayability. The destruction felt a lot better in the original too from what I remember, crash a truck into a building and cave in part of it which was amazing for my 8500gt at the time… at 8 frames per second haha

I wouldn’t use it for security, use VMs if you need isolation.

I used Distrobox for various dev projects on Fedora Atomic and it worked great for that. I did a separate homedir mainly just to avoid dumping a bunch of crap into my real home but definitely have the expectation that anything you install has full access to the system.

I run FreeCAD via Distrobox as well since the flatpak performance was pretty bad and it’s wayyyy faster which is nice and preferable to rpm-ostree in my instance.

This looks great, I have EA via Bottles currently for BF3/4 would love to switch to this. Totally get why it doesn’t support BF3, BF3 using a browser launcher for the PC version was insanely stupid

I run this one on my T480 and it was honestly refreshing. I don’t believe the Microsoft store is even enabled by default which was a really nice change of pace from all the crap it’s usually got. Just enable what you want… how it should be but instead, “muh CoPilot”.

Nice I haven’t needed to relicense my ACF since I have a lifetime one but I am awaiting the eventual rug pull like DeliciousBrains did after WPEngine bought and enshittified them. Really feels like they just tried to secure as many “core” plugins for themselves which I’m really wary about.

Disable the license check in the plugin, you’ll have to get the code first somehow though.

Better off avoiding them as much as possible though, each one you add increases the already somewhat large range of potential attack vectors.
