I get it but it’s a little disappointing. This kind of comm seemed only two skips removed from lolcow content. On the other hand, it helped me get the lay of the land as a new user who isn’t even certain what instance I belong on. Also, I built a pretty comprehensive user block list just by browsing the posts and seeing what kind of interactions I would like to not have. It also kind of shines a mirror on me and shows me ways I should avoid acting.

But, the premise is just bad so I can’t really say I blame y’all for dropping it. People shouldn’t have Lore.

A huge part of beginning work with a therapist is learning emotional vocabulary because many people are just made ignorant of what our emotions even are. That thing you feel when something bad happens to somebody you don’t like? There’s two or three different words for that but you can’t be expected to handle it healthily if you don’t even know what it is.

That’s an extreme example but there’s also a whole bunch of different kinds of sad that some cultures (looking at you America) just refuse to acknowledge because being sad isn’t being a hard worker and that’s bad for the economy ☹️

Anywho, emotional vocabulary. Important stuff. They make worksheets and tools to help you explore words. I highly recommend for everyone but especially for men because they keep us stupid on purpose.

Thank you for taking the time writing all this up for me. That makes me glad I asked because most info I was finding with google-foo was telling me to set up port forwarding the old way with my router and not really doing a good job of laying out how and why it works to begin with. After having switched from Tribbler to a client that has uPNP, now I think I understand why I’m struggling with it less. I’m unsure if my Soulseek is connected and sending data right but this gives me some better ideas of how to find out.

I’ve been trying to understand port forwarding since I keep seeing that I need to set it up for my torrent client to work reliably. But I read that it sends your traffic “outside” of your VPN encryption. Doesn’t it kind of defeat the purpose or am I understanding it wrong?

If anyone’s feeling pretty hopeless about finding this out for the first time, I recommend this documentary about the cartoon frog’s creator suing Alex Jones and trying to take back his ownership over Pepe from the white power weirdos. It’s very uplifting and the artist is a pretty likable guy.
