Ehh. It’s definitely going to be more than traditional consoles. Whether it’s worth it to you depends on how much you care about having a console like experience on your TV, except with your steam library, and all the goodness that comes with a Linux-based OS.

Makes sense. I’ve only seen accessibility toilets be dedicated rooms, and without a stall since they usually aren’t big enough anyway.

How big are the stalls in the US? That looks absolutely massive compared to any I’ve seen here.

And what about people who feel exhausted by every type of social interaction? Because that’s my experience. I’m not saying it cannot change over time, but labels can still be useful. When someone describes themselves as an introvert, nobody assumes they are drained by every single interaction. People generally understand it as a way of describing how someone responds to strangers or groups, rather than how they respond to all interaction.

There is nothing wrong with that. A label can help someone express a pattern they recognise in themselves without believing they are trapped by it. It is simply a way of communicating how they tend to feel in certain situations. Many people adopt mindsets that feel natural or comfortable without assuming those mindsets define them forever.

I think my issue isn’t so much understanding them, but remembering them, especially when there’s a lot. My ADHD simply doesn’t let me remember so much information at once, maybe if I spent a good amount of time reading the rules, memorising them, preparing myself, etc.

This is why I refuse to play boardgames, even though my partner and our friends really like playing tabletop simulator. I think it’s a fun combination of my ADHD and anxiety. The ADHD struggling to understand instructions, and my anxiety not wanting to embarrass myself by being unable to.

This seems like it would either be the worst thing on earth, or actually surprisingly good.

I’m sad I no longer have my files from my time spent in college doing games design, would’ve loved to see if I could do better now.

I definitely don’t think they’re aiming for the high-end or pro market, but I also don’t think the average casual gamer is going to choose an unknown quantity that’s likely much more expensive than a console they already know works. That kind of risk is usually taken only by people who are more enthusiastic or more in the know, which doesn’t describe casual gamers.

Personally, I like the idea of it as a way to play my Steam library on my living room TV, much more conveniently than streaming, using long cables and Bluetooth devices, or lugging a heavy computer tower. It might also appeal to console gamers who want to get a computer but don’t know the first thing about them. The Steam Machine is a complete package that works more or less like the consoles they’re familiar with.

It needs to at least match console performance, aiming for 4K@30, maybe medium settings. 4K@60 would be ideal of course.

The problem is that a lot of those people base their entire moral framework around their religion, so if they think they were abandoned by their god, they might go apeshit and lose any actual morals they had left.

I’ve been playing since the 12th, it hasn’t gotten better since then and my friend who got it day one hasn’t said anything about updates improving the performance.

On 3440x1440 with a 4080 I get around 50-60 FPS on very high, with DLSS Quality.

Yeah, I don’t think the people complaining are buying them, it’s always a vocal minority, the main populace couldn’t care less.
