so interested in what the “several projects advocating tolerance and equal rights” were, do we know?

i got this too, really interested in what the actual backstory is, what projects were being targeted. but good for the codeberg team for standing up and calling this stuff out by name in the blog post. based.
agreeing with Republicans on one specific issue (antitrust enforcement to protect small companies)
Where is he getting this bullshit from that republicans actually want to do antitrust lol
i got on posteo recently, it’s great. sometimes the webmail feels a little archaic but it’s probably for good reasons and keeps costs down. every setting i could want is exposed and their guides are really good.
i’m genuinely curious about some alternatives to this sort of surveillance to solve issues like CSAM etc., which aren’t “it’s the parents responsibility”. section 230 reform? links to further reading appreciated.
these numbers are nearly reaching the point where buying seasons of shows on iTunes, which always seemed insanely expensive, becomes the better option for people who watch specific stuff. never thought I’d see the day
youtube suggestions are genuinely terrible for the individual and humanity as a whole
it’s also full of fascists a la rumble
i’d love to read an alternate proposal for solving some of the issues this is trying to address, cause doing nothing is no good either.
since those are news feeds rather than people, i gotta shout out this Firefox add-on for finding people’s mastodon accounts after visiting their blog or other pages. it’s really cool: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/streetpass-for-mastodon/
edit-homepage with other platforms: https://streetpass.social/
some high-volume automated aggregator news feeds:
and a personal fav: https://mastodon.social/@archaeology@mstdn.social
are a lot of these options not opt-in at the system level? on iOS at least. i know they can approximate a lot using ad tracking but not health info on the phone if you don’t allow it
wonder if they’re gonna nuke nsfw rss feeds
i finally remembered the other service that supports app store updates. scroll to Apple App Store here: https://rss-bridge.org/bridge01/
RSS, basically. for software with github releases, there’s an RSS feed for release feeds by appending .atom to the releases page, like https://github.com/yt-dlp/yt-dlp/releases.atom
check out nitter.net for twitter RSS, has been going strong through API changes. also since you mentioned Apple stuff, it’s not per small update but they publish major stuff on the Newsroom feed which has an RSS feed: https://www.apple.com/newsroom/rss-feed.rss
also you might like https://www.techmeme.com/ as a high-volume aggregator.
