Aight, Prusa’s out. Won’t be choosing them for our community makerspace any longer

Forgot about hydropower, the OG and also most reliable renewable

I asked for something human-readable /s

I’ll give it a go:

Wuhuuu!
I’m not a native English speaker, so there may be some nuance I miss out on. But as far as I can tell, the implication of what you wrote was
I have good knowledge on point 1, limited knowledge on points 2&4, and somewhat decent info about point 2. I’m not disputing points 2,3&4.
It’s very misleading to say that “Cuba is keeping itself isolated”. Each year the UN votes to end the embargo/isolation imposed on Cuba by the US, with the vast majority of countries voting in favour of ending the blockade each time.
In the latest vote, in November, only Israel and USA voted against ending the blockade. Ukraine abstained. 187 member states voted in favour of ending the blockade
Make no mistake, the US is what has kept Cuba unjustly isolated for the past decades. Source: https://news.un.org/en/story/2023/11/1143112
The US sees anything that could shake their narrative of the world as a threat, even when that ‘threat’ is unfounded, and they massively abuse their economic and military power around the globe to keep others in line.

Neat stuff!

Definitely the transition from QT5 to QT6. It Looks identical, but has better wayland support and performance.
There are also a few new and hot features which I can’t recount at the moment (it’s 4:30 in the morning), but the pointieststick blog should have the droids you’re searching for

Niceeeee! I’ve tested a few KF6 apps in a rawhide+nightly copr distrobox on Kinoite, and they’re quick

Aren’t most of those at best vulnerable as a leaf in the wind; and at worst literal hacker gateways to your home?
True, although this can be alliviated by working in a worker-owned cooperative business

I’ve also used a pinetime running infinitime for the past year, and I agree that it’s not exactly feature rich. I like it though.
I’ve heard that ‘bangle.js’ is an open source watch as well, with a decent feature set.
Great post! I’ve often used low cost as an argument for choosing open source software in my [IRL] communities, as the other advantages aren’t that successful when talking to people on a personal level. This post elaborates on those other advantages in a convincing way.
Thanks devs and contributors❤️

Wayland support, would you look at that!
Was it rustdesk or some other popular open source remote desktop software that had “no plans of supporting wayland”? In any case, nice!
Can’t believe I’ve used Linux extensively for 4 years and never encountered this gold mine!
I’ve always wanted a Voron (https://www.vorondesign.com/). There are plenty of shops selling parts kits, and some selling prebuilts. We’ll see what we makerspace members agree on, if we’re even getting more FFF printers. We share house with a board game club, so there’s a lot of local interest for getting a resin printer. That’ll likely come first in any case
