It’s crucially important to raise kids with an understanding of whole food and its importance. You can’t keep them from processed food, but you can make it clear it’s a sometimes choice. Once they’re an adult and start to care about their health, they can build on the whole food foundation you gave them.

But God, so many of us were just raised on whatever came out of a box or packet or tube.

During Covid one of my friends was like “you get a skateboard and I’ll get a BMX bike and it’ll be like we’re teenagers again!”

And I’m like, what orthopedic surgeon is paying you to propose this exactly?

Hell I’m a part-time father in my 40s and that’s an extreme sport at this point.

Yeah the job market is teetering and quite frankly I think the numbers coming out are a little cooked these days, because they paint a rosier picture than I see around me.

Especially if they’ve been opening all those videos I’ve sent

A ton of brands and websites have rewards or loyalty programs that offer free shipping over $35 or whatever as a perk, which means I get a lot of free shipping off Amazon.

I believe in wresting back any amount of control/time we can from the system.

So my job has me coming in at 8:30-9:30am and leaving at 3:30pm every day, thanks to training my boss and working the system.

And honestly I am switching to a hybrid WFH job because even this is too much office time.

Also the standard “outdated message you have to listen to twice in entirety despite it not applying to you,” like “Please note, starting June 1, 2021 as a result of the Covid 19 Virus we will be starting social practicing guidelines in our offices” and they repeat a number twice for curbside that hasn’t existed in half a decade.

I wouldn’t mind “community uses eminent domain to socialize a power utility.” Then the data center can buy the power, at market rates, after the community’s power needs are met.

We were shown Roots in high school, and given a stern brow-beating as if we had personally overseen the slave trade (all-white high school/community). Then they told us to act like racism was solved for everyone’s good. It was… all fairly confusing.

A jet has multiple integrated digital systems meaning it would be super easy to hide things within the wiring or on circuit boards, which is exactly what security professionals said when they accepted the plane - it could never be made truly safe without being gutted - but they didn’t listen.
