Unfortunately this comic starts to be outdated. The new generation is apparently less tolerant and more conservative. Somehow the kids just know how to disappoint the previous generation every time…

We always hear how great Rust is, but I’d be curious to know where it isn’t.

• In any project that’s sufficiently advanced and written in any other language. You don’t simply do a rewrite of 100k+ LOC just because you want to use Rust.

• Somewhere where you’d rather use a scripting language like Python. I.e., rapid prototyping or gluing together some infra components.

• A situation where your team’s expertise is in some other language.

• A situation where a library/framework is native/only available for a certain language.

Few of these are strictly technical requirements. It’s obvious that you can use almost any language to do almost anything, including Rust, if that’s what you prefer. However, the context matters in the real world.

All this being said, I wish I had a chance to write Rust professionally. It’s a neat language.

Well, to be fair, if you don’t know what it is, it’s not really useful to know your opinion on the question either.

Yeah sounds like you’ve got a good plan. I’m far from being an expert, so can’t unfortunately give you deep insights.

Just be mindful of the burnout. It’s a marathon, not a sprint. That, and doing reps with good technique. Once the technique is not there anymore, it can be considered a failure and you can stop.

Sounds like you’re doing pretty well then. Somehow it didn’t click me how short time you’ve been at it yet, so just keep doing what you’re doing. The results will come in time.

At this point you should probably be aware of burning out or getting bored after a while since your training frequency is so intense.

Also, if you feel like you don’t need rest, you might not have enough weights, or your technique needs improvement.

You can try different routines. Here’s something I did that helped, mainly because it permitted me to try heavier weights within my program:

• Old routine: 1 warm up set followed by 4 sets of 10-12 reps.
• New routine: 1 warm up set followed by a very hard set of up to 5-6 reps followed by 2-3 sets of 10-12 reps.

You didn’t really specify the details of your program, but maybe this will give you something to experiment with.

Edit: also if you’re at the gym 6 days a week, you might need a break.

Ok, you’re right in this sense. However, I meant beaten badly in the sense of expectations vs. reality. If you followed any media, it was supposed to be a slight edge for Kamala, or at least a good chance for an upset. In the end the R’s got president, senate and congress. And the outcome was clear after the first few hours, unlike something like Gore vs. Bush.

A pretty good tell-tale sign of a fascist is that they will never apologize or admit doing wrong. You have to appear strong at all times.

There was a lot more demonstrations and outrage during Trump’s first term. I think now everyone is just exhausted and over it. Dems got beaten pretty bad in the election, and are probably very demoralized after this outcome. Maybe it will add up to a landslide in the next senate/congress election, maybe not.
