Probably dead. I’m old enough to likely not survive 3 more decades.
A husband. A father. A senior software engineer. A video gamer. A board gamer.
Probably dead. I’m old enough to likely not survive 3 more decades.

Exactly. Acting like this is an “ah-ha, see?!!” moment when this is exactly what open source is designed for. That’s like saying global warming is a hoax because “oh look it’s snowing”.

Maybe he’ll choke on an olive and his useless life will pass before his eyes just before he gets saved by someone he had once fired.
Perhaps then he would no longer be such a douchebag. I doubt it, though.
I never once said anything about “control the population.” Clearly you are doing exactly what idiot conservatives do — make shit up. Have fun living in the bubble of nonsense and intellectual mediocrity.
Proof that the Linux kernel is the Debil!
The fact that you think that image accurately depicts liberal ideology is enough to dismiss this out of hand. A moment-in-time choice of vote is as indicative of an ideology as comparing weather to climate. And equating the vote against literal fascists, openly and with pride working to dismantle the republic and install an autocracy, as being a scare tactic just to stay in power is as small-minded as I seem to, disappointingly, expect from the internet.
But I understand all that if you’re spoon-fed that from your choice of news outlets, it gives you less to think about and more to “meme” about.

Generally speaking, people are selfish assholes. But on occasion, a person will surprise me by being genuinely nice and it really lightens my day.
An example just from today…
Driving to Best Buy, I had to watch as someone swerved in and out of a lane, with zero regard to their surroundings, as if they didn’t know where to go, just for them to go to the Best Buy.
I went to park, and no less than three cars were over the lines making it difficult to park next to them.
Then in Best Buy, I had to dodge numerous people walking down the aisles with their head down staring at their phones instead of watching where they were going.
At the end of the experience, we were checked out by an amazingly nice and cheerful person who paid attention and interacted with respect and interest. While I understand it’s part of their job to be nice, I feel this person went above and beyond and just spoke to us like a cool human being.
So now my day feels good simply because of that one person. It’s sad that so many are the complete opposite. And to be fair, I’m a grouch a lot, so I am being hypocritical in what I say here. It’s so tough for me to be bright and cheerful when surrounded by such immense hostility, obliviousness, and rudeness.

Yes except his character flaws make him a terrible fucking human. But you can keep trying to justify his behavior and beliefs just because you happen to like SpaceX or Tesla or whatever. Won’t fly with many of us.
The problem is that they aren’t legally required to do that. They should be. And thus tipping would not be as necessary. Of course some servers like tipping, and I get that, but if they were paid effectively the same as a proper salary then they wouldn’t have to hope for a busy night or hope people are generous on any given night. Whether any given server likes the notion of tipping, it is a stress they have to endure — and in my opinion, an unnecessary stress.
That objective facts must be rooted in evidence. Billions of people in this world seem to not share that view.
Or…maybe if the restaurants paid a good living wage to servers then tipping wouldn’t be necessary. In my experience, my opinion here goes against the grain in the US :)

Did you ever hear the tragedy of Darth Plagueis The Wise?

Sure, it’s capitalism — where the workers consistently get screwed. Lol.

So idiots who run the company tried to screw over developers, and it’s employees who pay the price. Capitalism, I guess.

Experience. I’ve been playing video games for 40 years. Many of them of any given genre tend to follow a familiar formula. While I also wing it, like others have said, it usually doesn’t take long to recognize the patterns of the formula.

Exactly. There is about as much proof of Jesus of Nazareth existing as there is of King Arthur existing.
Saying “he probably did exist” is like saying “my dog probably speaks English to his fellow dogs.” It is meaningless without objective evidence.
People tend to say “he probably did exist” simply to hedge their bet or to not go against the grain of the mainstream belief system. I, for one, have been provided no objective evidence (by claimants such as religionists) of the existence of such a person and therefore I have no reason to accept the mainstream belief of his existence.

Oh look…another feature no one asked for from a company no one cares about anymore.
So tired of seeing that logo and articles about the shitshow that moron turned the company into.

Take meds and suffer in silence

No it was a sarcastic attempt to point out the nonsense of comparing two completely disparate things. I suppose it failed. Enjoy the nonsense!
The problem is if we’re not just saying “yes” to everything, especially AI, we’re sidelined and ignored. So what inevitably happens is there is a bifurcation of the employee base between those who have actual principles and experience enough to see the bullshit and enshittification that CEOs are doing with “AI”, and those who will continue to lick their boots in order to get paid. “AI” is yet another in a long line of divisive tools that leadership are happy to employ.
