Someone being dead doesnt make the bad decisions they made before their death immune to criticism. Idk why people behave like it does.

She wrote “do not let this go away”. That means she wanted to bring as much attention as possible to her killing. But also what she wrote is plain stupid. Her family will never be or feel safe no matter what they do.

Even if you dont want to directly involve your family, there are better ways to make it hard for others to fake your suicide.

This is a stupid thing to write tho unless you update it regularly and verifiably. Anyone can fake it and things change, maybe someone wasnt suicidal but then became suicidal.

In this case i wouldnt doubt it for a second if someone claimed she was murdered, but thats beside the point. If you want to make sure that you cant be “suicided” then you need people close to you that can act as witnesses to your mental well being right before you got killed.

You’re right, it has been released, but matrix.org and most other servers either havent activated QR login or arent using MAS. It will be sick tho, the demos make it look very fast and smooth.

While matrix/element is still very much in development, it is improving constantly. A year ago i sometimes had issues with desynced encryption keys and now that never happens anymore. There is now a modern group call and screensharing system and the new ElementX mobile app which is much faster than the old app. Now there is also OIDC and in a few weeks QR code login will be released, so no more manually entering login and encryption key verification stuff.

Electric bikes ruin the climate impact ratio. They are still much better than electric cars tho.

The Eurail Pass is fucking insanely good for this kinda stuff. You pay 286€ and then within a month you can pick any 7 days to travel to the next place you want to stay at for a few days. On those 7 days you can then take as many trains as you want anywhere in Europe (Not just EU). Thats just the most used version tho. There are lots of variants (4, 5, 10, 15 days in one month) or (15days - 3months of constant travel)

Yeah, whenever two models interact or build on top of each other, the result becomes more and more distorted. They have already scraped close to 100% of the crawlable internet, so they dont know what to do now. Seems like they cant optimize much more or are simply too dumb to do it properly.

Matrix certainly counts as “federated” which is whats in the title, but its not using activitypub so its not “fediverse”. Email is also federated and i assume you have that too lol

Modern GPUs are easily 1000x faster than the ones back then, so 800k hours would be reduced to 800h which is a month worth of time. Thats just raw compute tho, there is lots of optimization work that has happened in the last 30 years, so its probably waaay less than that. I would expect it to be possible in a few days on a single high end GPU depending on how closely you want to replicate the graphics. Some rendering things might be impossible to reproduce in identical manner due to a loss of the exact system and software used back then.
