I don’t think anybody is asking to measure his feet, but these measurement devices are practically everywhere that shoes are sold, so it’s easy to check for yourself.
I wonder if it’s a function of total surface area or if it’s more about the weight pressing on your ankles…
“It’s level 1 autism, what used to be called Asperger’s,” is normally enough for people to understand what I’m talking about. Of course, I’m not saying these things to every person passing by, but when a conversation goes there I try to be educational.
I find that I don’t like full games of chess, but chess.com has these little chess puzzles that highlight the surprising deviousness of the rules that can turn a sure defeat into a swift victory.
They also have an algorithmic engine that will calculate the general effectiveness of each move so you can get instant feedback, which I like.
I guess I need more focus in the things I play, and chess is just too broad as a game.
Chess is a logic puzzle that changes as you play it, with the randomness coming from player interaction. If you’re not into solving those kinds of puzzles, you’re probably not going to have fun.
I used to try to use them 100%, but there are so many situations where it’s completely unwarranted (in my specific driving circumstances). So I guess I default to using my indicators, but I try to use them the right way, i.e. before a lane change rather than after I’ve started to commit.
Also, I used to put on my indicator for a lane change nice and early, but dear god the way these cars warn about your blind spot being occupied, holy shit. Music turns down, loud beeping, it’s madness.
No, but only because I rarely pull out of a driveway or parking spot into any sort of traffic. Parallel parked on a road, though, sure.
Feels that way to me, too. What the hell is “personal”?
If they do just one more genocide I’m gonna start getting a little angry
I’m good with lengthy term limits, even, but there needs to be something
Isn’t it crazy that we learned the way to bypass nature’s ambivalence and wildly exceeded its ability to control us through incredible feats of cooperation, yet we fall back into the same old atavistic selfishness and greed and laud it as “survival of the fittest”?
Thanks for that. Having read it, though, I think it’s likely that I’ll forget about the details soon enough to continue nothing-ing her comics. The whole argument feels silly from the periphery.
I promise I’m not completely stupid, but the first time I saw an ad I went looking for ways to never see them again and came up with nothing. I’ll look again, though!
I pay for Nitro yearly to the tune of $15 a month and the ads cannot be disabled, only hidden after they come up.
So yeah, I’ve cancelled my subscription, this is only going to get worse, especially once they’re completely beholden to shareholders.
Lol, What to hate worse, the people or the shit they make us all go through? 🤔
I’m trying to be a more understanding person, but goddamn
The mobile YouTube apps are the worst for this. Especially because the “back” button is really an “escape” button, so trying to just swipe back to where you were is impossible
My tips for doing pull-ups:
Do them a lot, in any way you can.
Resistance bands are great for putting a foot or knee into, relieving you of some of your body weight, so that you can actually put your muscles through a full range of motion at an easier level.
Pull-up machines do basically the same thing, though they aren’t as common.
Gymnastics rings can give you a lower position from which to pull, so you can rest your heels on the floor with your body in an L shape, again reducing the weight you have to lift.
Negative pull-ups, where you start with your chin at bar level (normally by jumping) and then slowly lower yourself to full extension, will also build your pull-up muscles.
A chair that you can put a foot on will help, too. Or a friend who can hold your foot/feet (and who knows when to let go, lol).
And finally, losing weight in other ways (cardio is a good one, so is calorie counting) helps a lot, for obvious reasons.
Hope this helps and happy pulling!
My graveyard of abandoned games grows almost as quickly as my library.
I recognize this as novelty-seeking behavior, but I think I’m discerning enough now that I get my money’s worth, generally speaking.
When I lived in Germany I found that the people were far more self-policing than Americans. There just seemed to be a general attitude of, “we know we’re not supposed to do that, so we don’t.”
Fully anecdotal, sure, and that was 15 years ago, but nonetheless it’s hard for me to imagine “ze Germans” tampering with odometers to sell cars.
