Meh, who goes on lemmygrad? It’s full of hateful tankies.

I’m new and was looking for political places to chat and crack a few jokes but wow. That instance, from the federated posts I’ve read, totally takes the cake, eats it and spits it out on your face through it’s butthole covered in puke. It’s simple things like, oh we love trump and don’t love Biden. It’s more like people trying to figure out where the guy’s at right now and trying to do some craziness with that info… It’s bad.
bruh we do not like trump
how did you get that

feel outraged, and to be honest, its more of just a tradition, we had it in our discords and genzedong, we never thought not to do it here.
Yup, this is why federation is so good. Have them eat their pie, let us eat ours.
Somebody’s projecting here.
Nah man. Every time I talk on a lemmygrad post or see one of their posts I get bad vibes.
I once said that maybe it’s not nice to make fun of soldiers with PTSD and so many came to tell me how they deserve it because they’re scumbags and how they’re happy to see veterans suffer.
Tankies scare the fuck out of me. It makes me feel like there’s no escape from authoritarians, no matter what I do. I feel like I have to choose between a capitalist dystopia and “communist” authoritarianism.
what Soldiers specifically, because we get in angry moods sometimes
but some people deserve the hate for what they do, especially since many have never apologized for what they have done.
I don’t care. Making fun of people suffering is never ok. The people that do that are the same ones that are ok with sending people to gulags and concetration camps. A revolution done by people like that will not be communist, it will be like all the other “communist” states we had so far - authoritarian and state capitalist.
Those are the choices. And if you choose capitalism, you choose wrong.
Well if those are the choices, I will die fighting everyone because I refuse to be a slave. If you wanna be a slave, that’s your issue.
There’s also actual communism (workers’ collective ownership of the means of production, not its monopolization by a bureaucracy).
It’s tough to get, yes, since it’s fought tooth and nail both by capitalists and authoritarian “communists”, but it’s a possible choice.
God, you really are a child. You must be with your politics
How am I wrong?
Yeah, having the ones who entirely destroyed the workers’ movement trying to come back surfing on the ignorance and desperation of young leftists is really disheartening…
Thanks for being a sane person among all these slave wannabes.
These “state capitalism” fanboys are actually exactly like the “private capitalism” fanboys : they rabidly defend a system bent on destroying everything including themselves, in the illusion that one day they’ll be one of the elite benefiting from it rather than the millions of proles exploited by it…
you annoy me with your nonsense
That’s because you are stupid or a psychopath.
destroyed what? Without our movements, you have no existing socialist country. Chaz even has us (even then I question why they would be there, its a lost cause of infighting and racism). So silence with your chauvinistic bullshit about sincere attempts at something you’ve barely read about. You’ve whined about it, they died defending it. Who is the pretender here?
What scares the fuck out of me are people who reject methods for combating capitalism that actually have been shown to work successfully, and using terms like tankie to dismiss people they disagree with. People in the west live under a highly organized and authoritarian dictatorship of the capitalists. The only way to combat this is by having symmetric structures that represent the rest of the society. The notion that this can be achieved without authority is not bearing itself out in practice despite over a hundred years of people advocating for this ideas. It’s also worth noting that implicit authority structures arise in groups where no formal authority exists.
Communist “authoritarianism” that you speak of has been demonstrated to improve the living conditions for countless millions of people, and it’s a far better real world alternative to the capitalist nightmare people in the west currently live in.
Fighting capitalism by putting in state capitalism? That’s the dumbest take I’ve ever seen.
When you definitely understand what capitalism is and how it functions. Capitalism is a system where a handful of people own the means of production and exploit others to produce capital for themselves. Claiming that publicly owned means of production put towards improving the lives of the majority is the same thing shows stunning amounts of ignorance on the subject.
And to clarify, I’m all for taking the means of production, but only as long as it doesn’t turn authoritarian. And a state + hierarchies will always lead to that. Unless you aim for the same as I say, you aim to enslave me, just in a different system.
Nothing prevents implicit authority from arising in absence of formal power structures. In fact, that this leads to a worse situation since there are no explicit rules regarding who holds authority or why, nor are there mechanisms for recall of such individuals.
An example of such an implicit power structure would be the admins of the is the anarchism community on Lemmy. This group of people decides on the rules of the community and who is allowed to participate in it. Majority of the decisions this group makes are not voted on by the greater community, and most of the participants aren’t even aware of what decisions are made on their behalf.
In effect, this group holds implicit authority over the community. Research shows that people who exhibit psychopathic tendencies are likely to end up in leadership positions. So, it is highly likely that such individuals would rise organically to positions of power.
It seems to me that it’s better to accept the fact that human organizations tend to form into hierarchies and to create clear rules about responsibilities of individuals in positions of power as well how these individuals should be recalled when they transgress.
The alternative results in hierarchies forming implicitly with many members of the group not even being consciously aware of the fact that these hierarchies exist in the first place.
Anarchists are free to try and make their system work, but they can’t force others to subscribe to it. If anarchism isn’t able to deal with adversity and other competing systems then it’s not worth much in practice.
I dunno, if that’s the case then I don’t wanna live in this world any more and I’ll just kill myself. I don’t agree with doing things this way and I never will. I guess I’m just not made for this society and the society can fuck off.
IT’s the same from the POV of the average person. They slave away their entire lives for no reason other than making some numbers go up. Whether it’s the company’s stock price or the state’s production and exports, it’s the same shit for the average joe.
And growing up in a place like that, I can tell you it was horrible. People being afraid of speaking against the state for fear of being sent to work camps, people never having the option to just quit their job…
How is that freedom? Honestly, it’s better in this system now because if you have some money you can take breaks sometimes. You couldn’t do that in my country under the old regime. If the old regime comes back i’ll just kill myself.
No, it’s not the same from the POV of the average person. In a socialist system they work in their own interest and they’re direct beneficiaries of the fruits of their labor. If you can’t even understand that then I don’t know what else to tell you.
And having grown up in USSR myself, I completely and utterly disagree with you.
I don’t care how it was for you in the USSR. For me and my family in Romania it was the worst thing. It’s not much better now but at least we’re not afraid to speak against the state and we can quit our jobs.
If you don’t care about freedrom that’s your prerogative. I wanna be free.
I am not sure what “tankie” means - but I feel your last sentence hard.
Come on over to beehaw, we believe strongly that users should be nice to each other. 😊
