What’s really funny is that I was friends with an older guy who got in deep shit with the FBI for selling bootleg VHS moves in NYC.

My city had the absolute worst one. Some bigoted pieces of shit ran a transphobic one around a pediatric hospital that has a clinic for trans youth.
I was strongly tempted to lose a box of roofing nails off the back of my bike.

I think as it is now leftism is an intellectual position, but historically I don’t think that’s always been true, when leftist movements saw more broad popular appeal like during labor organizing there were definitely dumb leftists.
The reason it’s in Republicans best interest to keep people stupid is that stupid people are much easier to propagandize to. Analyzing the information you’re receiving helps make you less likely to fall for blatant lies. (Leftists know we need better propaganda, but it’s also deeply cynical to think we need it.)

Wait, do I see physical media in there? Wild. Are disc drives more common in Germany or is it a metaphorical disc and they kept the design for some reason?

Timberborn kinda added this with 1.0, but the “goal” for each map is the earth recultivator and the iron teeth equivalent, it adds a symbol to the map selection screen once you build them as kind of a completion goal. It didn’t fit OPs request at all before though.

As one of those “games as art” people I think you’ve kinda misunderstood the stance - narrative and gameplay are very much part of the art we’re talking about. Films as art is well established but aesthetics alone don’t make a film great - see the (blue skinned aliens) Avatar films, they look fantastic but everything else is meh. Most of us aren’t really interested in the Thomas Kinkade of video games, lol.

Some things have changed, it used to be fueled by cocaine and hopium.
Still doesn’t explain how they get a beaver from some berries and water.

Someone tell Metro Transit. They make changes to my local bus route every few weeks and it’s annoying.
Hey OP, lemvotes is a thing. And you’re the one downvoter on completely valid criticism here.
I liked seeing a comic grow out of the fediverse, and your comedy was hit or miss but I figured you’d get better with practice and feedback. Your response here shows you’re not going to grow with feedback and you’re always gonna suck.
Yikes. Getting roofied is not something to joke about, the drugs are dangerous and have killed victims. Even if you’re a wild freak into consensual non-consent this wildly misses the mark. Rethink this one.

Yeah but they’re more likely to have their Achilles tendons so there’s that.
A friend of mine had one, I volunteered to ferret sit when they went on vacation. The ferret was adorable but also hyperactive enough that I never want one for a pet.
Yes, but sadly it isn’t going to be very good.

For context, the NES library was actively curated by Nintendo, that’s what their “seal of quality” was about. There were a few bootlegs, but unless you had a niche for that bootleg (see that Bible game) I suspect the complexity and cost of developing for the NES heavily discouraged bootlegs.
I think we gain more than we lose by the lower barrier to game development and publishing, quality indie games can get much more traction (unfortunately many do get buried in the slop) and games with niche marginalized audiences are more able to exist and find that audience now. YouTubers have been a big source of finding indie games for me, and sometimes recommendations from people on social media. I guess I have the opposite problem - I’ve got so much stuff on my wishlist and owned game backlog that I want to play that I’d probably have to spend the next decade of my life just playing games to get through them all.
Yup. My extended family is farmers. They got out of livestock decades ago because there was no profit at the scale they were willing to do it in and animals smell terrible at (abusive) scale. Corn and soybeans, they had a contract with a major company for sweetcorn last I heard.
I love the idea of an air conditioned tractor cab that’s mostly run by GPS and lets me sit around and listen to podcasts while babysitting the tractor, but I don’t want to live in Bumfuck Iowa so I didn’t go into farming.

U2 was a test run.

Off topic but Berm Peak is awesome.
I’ve got the hot take of wondering if Windows is less corporate than ChromeOS. I’m sure there’s some open sourcing going on from Windows but ChromiumOS (which I assume has major issues, AOSP certainly does) exists, and someone could build something cool with it.
Sadly we’ll never have an open source Windows XP.

Texas and Florida haven’t banned it yet.
Can’t, I’m in the bathroom producing an ai response.
