Well, I’m not an electrician, but, I work in a similar trade. Generally when customers ask this question the answer is because I had 4 customers before you, and one of them talked the entire time I was trying to work, and another I did a complete renovation of the system. Often times, it makes way more sense to finish what you started than to stay “on schedule”. Which is why there are appointment windows generally. Trust me, all we want to do is go home and your appointment is what’s between me and that goal. We don’t want to take anymore time than we have to.

I agree. And I most definitely understand, you don’t have, not should you expect a right to privacy the second you leave your front door. (Arguably before that too, but that’s neither here nor there.)

I think what bothers me most is, I don’t want, let’s say my walking pattern in a city, monitored(it already is) to then have some camera see that I’m having a “bad day” then in inundated with ads that, “based on my profile, x emotion shows I’ll spend money here.” Idk. It just feels very dystopian, if that reasoning makes sense. Though, it’s sorta like climate change, it’s inevitable and the individual is essentially powerless.

Well, I don’t think that’s the profound bit, more, that, you have an army of video surveillance robots. The time you are walking down the street being recorded is only ever increasing. Granted, every official is going to come at it from the “reduced crime” stat, which, surveillance does combat, but, it’s a slippery slope.

If they had cause, I’m sure the majority of my private conversations, and where I’ve been have all been recorded and could be used against me in court. Am I a criminal? No. I’m not “scared” of it necessarily. I don’t think it’s ethical though.

Well, I, like many many, others am playing Baldur’s gate.

But, honestly, I still find time for ol’ trusty falconBMS. (It’s a tiny but very loyal playerbase, thinking about starting a page for it on lemmy somewhere)

As a garage door tech, I have too many questions.

Such as, where is that spring line? Where is the rest of the tracking? Who installed that motor, and why? It looks like it was installed in the last handful of years. It’s also installed in a helluva way, but, given the headroom, I can excuse it, but, without tracking or a spring line, that motor isn’t doing shit… so why is it there? Wtf is going on here?! This is causing a crisis.

So, it turns out, (as someone pointed out) it’s a one piece garage door, I don’t see these where I live due to snow. So, it likely actually works, crisis kinda averted.

While I agree, most games are delayed and still garbage, buggy messes. Looking at you cyberpunk, halo, etc.

I just hate the current state of the industry as a whole.

I put many many hours into Pokémon that way. I think this was about getting caught, which, somehow, I only did maybe once or twice.
