Here’s a statement by Layla Moran where updates from her relatives in the church have shown that IDF soldiers and tanks have surrounded the church in the past two days and are still shooting anyone who goes outside of it or near the windows. Several of the wounded have already died as they have no medical supplies or food or water and the electrical generator was already destroyed by the IDF.

The toilets are in a separate external building, by the way, so they can’t even access the bathrooms without risking being murdered.

Here you have a Jewish person who is a journalist and a renowned political thinker who was being given the award for being someone who “reports on power games and totalitarian tendencies as well as civil disobedience and the love of freedom”.

They 100% have the position, right, and accuracy to be comparing the state of Gaza currently to the WWII ghettos.

And I can’t help but laugh. Do they not know Arendt’s past stance on Israel? She was literally one of the first world-renowned Jewish anti-Zionists.

But it’s been pretty well known that Netanyahu and Israel were responsible for Hamas existing and being funded in the first place, in order to undermine the Palestinian Authority that was actually making progress toward a two state solution, which Israel really hasn’t been in support of for decades, but had to pretend they supported to stay the “good guys”.

I’m less worried about their social media activities and more with their active working with and paying off of Republicans to side with them over the past decade. And their working together to push all of the human rights rollbacks that conservatives have been rolling out on the state level in the past few years.

What? No, that’s literally the opposite of what I said. Our democracy is fundamentally compromised and Russia has played a major role in that.

Any war with Russia is our war, as they’ve been actively trying to harm democracy across the world, including buying off our major politicians in this country.

This was already well known within a week of October 7th and was reported on extensively then. But continually bringing it up in this long drawn out process seems like an attempt to downplay or deflect from the ongoing atrocities being committed by Israel.

The issue is then any and every building can be justified as being a “Hamas building” just because they were the group in charge.

But that just means any and all infrastructure, since Hamas is the group in control.

It’s basically admitting to wanting to completely destroy any form of livelihood that exists for Palestinians as a people.

And this wasn’t from bombing or shelling or anything like that. The IDF went in and set up physical explosive charges to demolish the building.

What could even be the excuse for doing something like this?

It’s a stalemate, largely. While Russia was massively on the backfoot earlier in the year, they mined massive swaths of eastern Ukraine before partially retreating.

Which makes it unlikely for Russia to actually have any future forward progress, but it also stymies Ukraine from doing the same except extremely slowly. There’s still been several victories for Ukraine over the past few months, but they haven’t changed the fighting area much.

It’s largely a war of attrition to wear down Russia now, who has been having more and more internal issues as time goes on.
