I don’t care what people say, the most important historical event in my lifetime was the discovery and release of the lost Steely Dan tape containing The Second Arrangement
So many of OP’s post titles (including on their apparent alts) are weird generic questions that are fishing for engagement. They don’t seem to even “get” all the jokes they share. I’m not quite sure what their objective is, apart from maybe posting content for the sake of content to grow Lemmy/communities. It feels a lot like Facebook pages spamming generic content to grow an audience and then shifting to advertising a product and/or pushing propaganda.

I thought this was fiberglass insulation at first
Maybe they got to the dump and there was a big sign and chain across the dump saying “Closed on Thanksgiving” and they had never heard of a dump closed on Thanksgiving before and with tears in their eyes they drove off into the sunset looking for another place to put the garbage. They didn’t find one. ‘Til they came to a side road and off the side of the side road there was another fifteen foot cliff and at the bottom of the cliff was another pile of garbage. And they decided that one big pile is better than two little piles and rather than bring that one up they decided to throw theirs down.
Somebody posted this exact same comic to this community just prior. I don’t think your title is a reference to a small edit that I’m missing? In any case, it might be best for everyone to glance through New on a community before posting non-OC.
Many historians believe the 15th POTUS, James Buchanan, was gay and closeted. Openly gay Pete Buttigieg (D) has ran for president within recent years but ultimately did not win his party’s nomination.
However, there are two determining factors for a more modern day scenario:
Keep showering. The Lord will provide a towel when it is time to leave.
Go to the search bar in Lemmy. Filter to search for Communities. Enter in related search terms such as “changemyview” or “change my view”. Inspect each community to see what their rules are. Inspect the host instance for each community to see what their rules are. Though these communities you find here may not be as active as their Reddit counterparts, you can help grow the social environment you want to experience by participating in these communities.
This is from the subreddit mods’ rules. I don’t see it necessarily implying OP to be in the wrong or in the right. It really just implies those damn corporate admins are at fault. OP could just want a platform which doesn’t censor a discussion on subject matter alone.
Call Billy Corgan because somebody oughtta smash that pumpkin
[EDIT: never mind I just looked up his political beliefs so maybe there’d be someone better qualified to kill the Gourd-Emperor]
I can only read this in Gumball and Darwin’s voices due to the color palette
If the address is incorrect, you could try finding the correct address and deliver it yourself, or maybe contact the post office local to that area to arrange a delivery of sorts?
I once got an Amazon package addressed to the previous resident of my apartment, and I was expecting packages of my own at the time so I opened it without reading the name of the intended recipient. Realizing it wasn’t mine, I was able to locate the intended recipient on LinkedIn and found her workplace, which happened to be nearby. I asked for her at the workplace’s front desk (without realizing that I was talking to her) and she said to deliver any other packages meant for her to that workplace. With mail (in the US, at least), you can write “Not at this address” on the envelope and mail it and it should find its way to the intended recipient.
Cool discovery.
This post is a good resource for other Lemmy formatting tips and tricks.
I recently discovered that Lemmy’s desktop site shortens groups of more than 3 exclamation points and groups of more than 3 question marks in a row down to only 3, and that pairs of periods will be rounded up into an ellipses.
I’d like to see a community to help document all of the obscure formatting tricks and quirks for Lemmy.
Edit: You can apparently circumvent Markdown formatting by putting a backslash \ in front of the command to format. For example, if you wanted to start a line with the greater than symbol >, you can put the backslash \ in front of the greater than sign > to prevent the text from being formatted as a quote

Could you be thinking of a materialized hologram of Attila the Hun, instead?
Yep, both that one and another adblocker I use for a few days now. I tried yet another plug-in called something like Ad Block for YouTube that works with blocking the non-video ads but I’ve still been getting video ads with it that only play the ad’s audio with a plain black video screen for the length of the ad; spamming refresh on the page tends to bypass the video ad. Hopefully the plug-ins will adapt soon.
