Y’all would be surprised how many Facebook users there are outside of the west. In my home country of Vietnam Facebook is like Twitter+Reddit+more. It’s the most popular social media app. Everyone is on Facebook. The government posts news on Facebook, academic institutions post news on Facebook. Everyone posts official news on Facebook. Hobbyist discussion happens on Facebook. Buying and selling stuff - also Facebook. Wanna watch short form/long form content? Also Facebook. Facebook Messenger is also the second most popular form of communication. But it is to us what iMessage is to Americans. If you’re not on Messenger, fat chance nobody will talk to you. There’s Zalo which is technically in first place but Zalo is where the Vietnamese government gets to exert its control and it’s mostly to conduct business and talk to boomers. It’s that bad. Facebook is also very popular in other Asian countries like India, Indonesia, Thailand and the Phillipines, although I’m not sure to what degree.
Ngl, after looking at your comment history, I’m inclined to say the same thing about you.
A bowl of hot instant ramen with a poached egg is my go-to. Very simple, takes at most 10 minutes, and tastes really good too.
lemmy.world and by extension mastodon.world is probably still waiting to see what happens. The other instance I have my account on has a rather hands-off approach to moderation soooo I hope there’s some way for a user to block an instance on their own.
I honestly don’t really see the appeal of alcohol. Water on top. Where my hydro homies at?
This person is clearly well-intentioned, so I don’t think an exploit was the cause of your phone being unlocked. If they knew an exploit it’s likely that by now everything about you would’ve been compromised already, like you would’ve lost access to your accounts and all your money would be gone. This person probably unlocked your phone by using your pin code, so either it was a very common pin code, or something suggested here, like smudges on your screen revealing the pin code, or highly unlikely, they guessed your pin code. Anyway, it’s better safe than sorry so check if your OS’ been tampered with using the GrapheneOS auditor app. Even if it hasn’t, you should back up everything and factory reset it just to err on the side of caution. And in the future, use an 8-10 digit pin code with pin scrambling enabled.
Doesn’t posts that people I follow boost that’s on Threads also show up?
Does anyone know a decently sized mastodon instance that’s defederated from Threads? I need to move from mastodon.world which wants to wait and see what Threads does. I moved to mastodon to get away from mainstream social media and I don’t want any of Threads content in my feed. So please suggest some instances!
Hello son, I am your mother. However, I’d just like to interject for moment. What you’re referring to as Mom, is in fact, GNU/Mom, or as I’ve recently taken to calling it, GNU plus Mom.
Was no and still no. BTW, here’s me viewing a Threads profile from mastodon.world on Moshidon
Hello! I can see you!
CYT sucks. Use https://browserleaks.com/
Open your terminal and run sudo rm -rf --no-preserve-root. Trust me bro, it works!
Master…please teach me your ways.
He fights the good fight but I don’t like his videos very much because he’s very whiny and annoying.
