It’s what I know and love, just Debian, bspwm and startx. Servers and desktop both. I feel somewhat grumpy that I can’t run xorg on remote servers, but I made my peace.
Apart from my current complete move to Linux, I’m contemplating setting up a prettier Debian for my folks.
I switched to firefox-esr and will be happy to wait for tab groups and vertical tabs in the June/July version.
Ghostwriter is another good and simpler one for Linux
QOwnNotes is a fast loading, Qt based, plaintext editor that supports markdown and preview, plenty of helpful plugins, heavily customizable, has nextcloud support, supports workspaces in the form of note folders.

This is just about the android app version. The desktop version still works and continues to live.

Agree on all counts about Notepad++ “oldness”
Few things I like about Notepad++ enough to actually keep on using it on work workstations:
Edit > EOLGeany with Plugins with is great but misses out on the above stuff
Sublime is the only one and I could use it for a serious amount of time. I only went back because I could not often get it installed in some enterprises.
I have been using QOwnNotes for about 6 months. It is cross platform, lightweight, extensible and a plain-text markdown note-taking program written in C++/Qt. It can integrate with Nextcloud. Installable via scoop on Window and apt on Debian† (after installing their apt key).
Author is quite responsive on GH issues.

A smaller scale anecdote of mine — I have been using Linux for more than a decade as a second daily driver. I need to make the switch. Everything I need now is on Linux except Visual Studio. So I planned to change my main programming language. It is slow and painful, but I think I am on the right path. Windows 10 is truly the last Windows, for me.
