well i used photoshop for a solid 8 years so i’d consider myself at the very least an advanced amateur
i don’t need it for work right now, but i used to

i got both but decided to first learn krita as i like drawing more than image manipulation. though i’ll be needing to hop into gimp soon i feel, as krita’s text editing options are clunky at best

as in i didn’t used to work with krita all day or i wouldn’t be working with krita all day now?

i miss photoshop. not enough to boot into my windows partition, but it sure would be nifty if it would just work on linux. krita is decent but danggit, not the same

could you elaborate on what you mean by “performance” of cloud storage? the speed of upload, download?

the average lemmy user is much more tech literate than an average person
people really don’t know that kind of stuff. to many a computer is a computer, it has internet, and plays games… what’s an operating system?

also remember to not accidentally put sugar (roughly 1kg sugar [or 2 pounds] per 1000kg cement) into a coment mixer because it will completely destroy the whole batch :(

that’s what i hope the next president of Valve is like

if i bookmark something i might as well have deleted it (my object permanence is bad). when it’s a tab i can at least see it there at all times
i’m not recommending this method to governments though, am i?
i recommend it for people who do garage sales once every few years who feel bad charging people for what they don’t need
an important part of the story above is her saying that she intends to sell those immediately
if i got a very expensive gift when i needed money i’d first yk, think about it a bit. most likely i’d feel guilty selling said gift, and i 100% would not brag about it to the person who gave it to me
there is a solution for that - vibe checks! if that person in front of you seems kind and like they actually need what you’re selling - give it to them for free. but if they’re just looking for deals to resell, keep the prices
nah this easily could’ve happened. i once had a neighbour of mine 1. ask me if that old basket in the corner of the hallway serving as a bin for spam mail was mine because she wanted to take it 2. ask me to sell her my flat?? in the same 3min conversation? so clearly she could very easily afford her own old basket but no, taking the communal one would be cheaper
a lot of rich people get rich by being scumbags

it’s less about intelligence and more about just not caring and being numb to ads

i used opera for around 13 years. i knew about the flaws but i was simply used to it, and as long as adblock worked i couldn’t be bothered to switch to anything else
then my laptop broke and only that happening gave me the incentive to install something else, i was starting from (close to) scratch anyway
it’ll take a lot of effort for people to abandon what they know, even if they’ll be moving towards something better
i use Zen now :) it’s nice

as a fresh linux convert all of my games work on linux thanks to steam. it even runs my ancient 2007 arcade-esque game that i was sent in an email from the dev better than windows used to
valve has put in the work for us, and now no gamer can use that as an excuse
'tis very simple. my nose doesn’t smell at all, it’s everyone else’s noses that have smells! just like with accents
