I’m not quite there yet but plant based diet is the direction I’m trending. At this moment in time I suppose you could call me a flexitarian.

This is also a recent change for me, in line with the article’s 2022 survey source.

My partner insists on having meat in the fridge at all times so that definitely has an effect on occasionally shared meals but I almost always eat only what I buy due to diet restrictions for health reasons.

Another factor of course is the cost of meat not being justifiable compared to the rising costs of everything else in the shopping cart. It’s a higher priority to continue to buy fresh produce than it is to sacrifice some of that to make sure there’s always a pack of chicken in the cart.

      And 4% here: https://worldanimalfoundation.org/advocate/how-many-vegans-are-in-the-us/

OPs article is from 2022 and was a survey of ~920 people. The link to the actual study, if there was one, is broken.

I think we can safely say there are vegans/vegetarians in the world. Income and religion probably are significant contributing factors. It wouldn’t be wrong to say between 4%-10% of Americans are vegan/vegetarian.

I generally don’t care what cause anyone supports, TBH. My point is that data, especially in regards to preferences, needs accurate context.
