I didn’t see this one, perfect to show people why 👍👏
Also, fuck gitea, long live forgejo
Yeah, but most of the password managers are a security risk too
I would actually be happy to see a good airgapped password manager working with qr codes, or NFC, or something like that
Maybe as an app for an old phone, or a raspberry pi zero
Ok, I didn’t know, it’s just usually I see some notifications like “priv app is the same as root, be careful”. Thank you
About the apps, I recommend switching, it’s not as scary as I sounds, most of the apps have an alternative or sth like that
Some people say it’s your IP, but actually IP is rarely used for tracking
On the way to privacy there are some things you should know:
They are priv apps, I believe it’s the same as root
Most of the privacy apps don’t require you to have gapps and their notifications
Spell the words with mistakes + add numbers and symbols with a rule, capitalize with a rule too
But lyrics of a song is an really obvious target to get to a dictionary(if it’s a dictionary attack)
More interesting would be encrypting name of the service, maybe with you login or something
So “gooey” + “lemmy”, let’s say we take three first letters and three last
“goommy”
Create a dictionary in your head only you know:
go out out mom mom yes (for an example I used short words)
Make mistakes that you would:
go oud oud mam mam yess
Add some numbers and symbols, capitalize
gO Oud Oud mAm mAm yEss (o, a, e are capitalized)
You get the point
It’s still metadata, ditch google play services all at once
If you’re ready to put on tinfoil, signal is not the way to go too
Phone number requirement is a big no-no in privacy community, plus signal wants to centralize more and more, when they could actually make it possible to selfhost signal
Of course you can, I can’t tell you exactly how because:
But in any case, caldav like the oldest and the most used calendar sharing protocol in existence Even google and other corporations use just caldav, there’s like nothing more than caldav
Hmm, it seems I missed this, saw the plugin many-many times, but thought it works with USB cables
Interesting, sadly I can’t get my hands on any inputstick (the area I live in is very harsh on importing stuff except local marketplaces(which don’t have the device))
At the same time it uses Bluetooth, which makes it not fully airgapped
Maybe some time later I will get into developing something similar, but wity nrf chips
CalDav + any calendar app from fdroid? 🫣
You wanted to say SimpleX
Love keepass, but I mean something different
A password manager that can keep passwords on one device, and use the passwords on the other, without the storing one being connected to any network, etc
Buy online and webrip? 🤔
But I wouldn’t buy anything anyway (and also, who is using DVDs these days? 🫥)
You should just ask this separately on selfhosted@lemmy.world
I’m not really into different clouds, I use nextcloud only for work/business stuff, for everything else I use syncthing, sorry
Why, works perfectly for me
I map the my cloud import directory to syncthing, or the other way
And like once in a week, or by a timer, import all the photos
I don’t know, hearing that syncthing isn’t good for something doesn’t set that easy for me
I use for the last two or even more years, and I didn’t disappoint me even once
Or just any well working matrix client because for me they all feel unstable
I use syncthing as camera backup, what could be the problem? 🤔
There’s gos’ camera already preinstalled, no need to download anything 🫣
They discourage fdroid because it’s not very secure, until it ever gets better
There’s the secure Accrescent, but it has almost no apps in it
(Yeah, but actually you can just use obtainium, this is probably the future)
