  • The economy definitely makes it tough to find a job at the moment! Your friends’ experience with unsuccessful job-hunting sounds very familiar. The new direction is working for a local government and basically being the person you talk to to get licences, permits, and other documents like that. It’s pretty much a dead end in terms of career (you can move horizontally but not vertically, I guess), but it sounds chill, pays well enough, has high job security, and sounds a lot better than making money for random corporations (most of my current options include some form of marketing, which I hate)

  • My job situation is starting to maybe look a little less terrible than a few weeks ago. It’s still far from good because nobody wants to give me a job, but at least my attempts to head in a different direction aren’t immediately rejected. I have a few online tests to do, and if they go well, they’ll invite me to an interview, and maybe I’ll be able to start my “career” from scratch next year :3

  • I’ve finished three drawings this year, and I’m working on two more, one sorta close to done, the other just started. That’s not a lot, but it’s more than I used to do, and I’m proud of that, especially because they are getting more “proper”. All of it is personal stuff that I can’t share here, unfortunately, but I still want to draw stuff that I can upload here, too :3

For me, that’s usually because I want to go somewhere where I feel at home. Home is a place where you live, but it’s also a feeling, I think. If you live in a toxic environment and hate every minute there, it may be your home (place where you live), but it’s not where you feel at home. Home is also a place where you feel safe and where you can be yourself. And sometimes, it goes beyond that, too. Maybe life is stressful or you suffer from depression and you’re looking for an escape because even home doesn’t feel like it’s home any more. There’s so much more to “home” than having a flat or a house to live in.

  • I’m trying to find a part-time job for that exact reason, but it’s really tough to find one. I mean, it’s tough to find a job in general at the moment, but the part-time requirement makes it even tougher. And like the other person said, it’s always a compromise between time and money, and not everybody can make such a compromise because they genuinely need a full-time salary.
