Recipe from Tried & True. I see the author posting on imgur sometimes, and this one caught my eye.
It’s more work than I usually like to do for cooking, but we’ll see. So far, it smells amazing - a good sign!
Edit: Well, this one was kind of a bust. It ended up being a little too spicy for us.


I like to use chipotle powder in my cooking, but I’m often underestimating the amount used. A workaround is to instead use liquid smoke, when in doubt.
Btw, methinks cilantro would also be good in that soup. It can be added near the end, otherwise it will tend to disappear amongst the other flavors.
Agreed! Unfortunately for me, we forgot to get it out of the fridge when the soup was ready.
Cilantro in general is tough. It comes in large enough bundles from the store that we really struggle to use it all before it goes bad.
Use it quickly, that’s the rule!
