Love Filmmaker! Check out his Vlad Tapes, if you haven’t already.

Dunno why, but his other albums don’t vibe with me as well as this one.

By the way, if you aren’t familiar, the netlabel Detriti Records is excellent for this kind of music — iirc Filmmaker was released there, which is how found him. Try e.g. Karl Kave.

There’s also the label aptly called Russian Post-punk, who released such stuff as Artificial intelligence created by a smart creature; but it’s on hiatus since 2022. There’s the punk/post-punk Youtube channel Harakiri Diat. There’s the fairly well-known label Dark Entries Records, which re-released some records from the eighties, like Sexual Harrassment’s ‘I Need a Freak’, the ‘Lost & Found Vol. 1’ compilation, and Patrick Cowley’s ‘School Daze’ (which is not just super duper gay, but is actual soundtracks for gay porn).

And just some bands: Toska po domu, My friend tape recorder, Mimilocos, Johnny Hazard (also ‘2-U’), Carol, Dirty Beaches, maybe XEX.

Check out also Liaisons Dangereuses’s ‘Los niños del parque’ and Radio Soulwax’s ‘This Is Belgium Part One: New Beat’ for where ebm came from.

Impressive knowledge and nice range of music. I gave everything a short listen, but will do a deeper dive soon. Good stuff in there. Interestingly, the Toska po domu Bandcamp page seems to be unavailable for me.

Have you ever come across J.G. Thirlwell or one of his many projects? The most famous one being Foetus. He did this in 1981, goes in a similar direction to some of the stuff you posted: Foetus - Spite your face

the Toska po domu Bandcamp page seems to be unavailable

Thanks for informing me — this kind of thing does happen occasionally, but a benefit of having all my ‘collection’ in the form of notes in an app is that I can look for new links instead of just losing the tracks. Seems that TpD are on this label or artist page now: ‘okurki / myasnaya lavka’ is my favorite release of theirs, but the ‘кровь’ album is also pretty cool. Apparently they also did a split with Kondratie with some of the same tracks and a very Detriti-looking cover art, so it must be interesting.

I was vaguely into post-punk for a long time, but properly started with the more darkwavey stuff around mid-2010s, off the popularity of ‘Hotline Miami’, the rise of synthwave and the coinciding resurgence in post-punk and ebm. So I had some time to gather whatever comes my way.

Which reminds me: ‘DETHWAVE MIX 2014’ by BLACkMOON77 is also very cool. But unfortunately doesn’t have the tracklist, and the author was obviously way better plugged into the scene than I am.

I’ve heard of Foetus, but never gotten around to looking into him. I’ll fix that now, thanks.
